Which latest Pakistani Dramas are a must-watch and which are a sure miss? Our Drama Gup helps you answer this very important question. So read on, to get the full drama story!

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi:

If nothing else, you should watch this drama to see a great performance by Iqra Aziz. Featuring the vivacious and charming Iqra Aziz, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Faiza Iftikhar, starring Syed Jibran and Imran Ashraf in lead roles. The story revolves around a girl who belongs to an extremely poor family of garbage collectors. She is sent to the city to complete her education, and work in a factory to earn some money. In the city, she falls in love with a guy at the nearby mohallay ki dukan. Imran Ashraf’s acting as a mentally retarded person is praiseworthy and deserves special mention. You will be hooked on to this serial to find out the fate of our heroine played by Iqra Aziz. So far the story has romance, mystery and some evil scheming on behalf of Iqra’s parents to marry her off to a rich old guy for money.

This drama has an interesting story and a strong script. On our list of dramas, this is a must-watch.

Lamhay:

Inspired by Indian soaps where the girl and the guy end up marrying just to show the world and family that they are married but in reality, they have no relationship of any sort in every possible sense. Eventually, they fall in love with each other and end up honoring the sacred vows of marriage. This is the script that dominates Lamhay’s storyline starring none other than Shaz Khan and Zara Noor Abbas. Hashir and Aleena carry out a contract marriage, and the story predictably moves towards the ultimate ‘falling in love’  with each other. If you can digest this unrealistic twist in the plot and play along, Lamhay can make for a light, romantic drama that also highlights the issue of women being given away as compensation for a crime committed by the man of the family.

Watch it for some light romance and feudal politics.

Balaa:

Starring Bilal Abbas Khan and Ushna Shah in lead roles, Balaa is not your average Pakistani Drama serial. It’s dark, full of suspense and a generous dose of conspiracies. It’s the story of a person possessed by a burning desire to get what she wants. In order to win the love of her life, she is willing to go to any extent, even murder. The storyline keeps you hooked, wondering what happens next. And even though you might be a bit tired of so many people dying, you will keep watching, just to see how it all ends. While Ushna and Bilal deliver great performances, it is Samina Peerzada who, despite not playing the lead role, delivers an outstanding performance.

Watch it if you’re into intense murder, psychopath dramas.
