Aurat March – here and gone. The posters, standout “feminist”phrases and jazba blew us away yet again! When so many women get together, they’re bound to make news! And they did. All we saw late night on our insta feeds was Aurat March post updates. But did they make their mark?  Here’s how we feel big brands could have gone a long way in championing their cause, and why not? When Fawad Khan can do it for PSL, Cricket ka jazba is no less than Aurat March ka jazba!

BIG BRANDS we didn’t see you? Is Aurat March not yet on your radar? Take a look at these posters and tell us if you didn’t think these brands could have jumped on the Aurat bandwagon and helped support the cause for a more EQUAL world?

1. ARRANGE MARCHES NOT MARRIAGES

Hmmm, We’re thinking Skechers, Bata, English Boot House, Nikes, Adidas

Did you not think you could JUST DO IT?

Or did the Aurats intimidate you to stay out of it?

You could have sent a few shoes

Marches are ripe

And a marketer’s delight

You lost out on this one

Make sure you champion a cause

That means a lot more

To half the population

Who march on in preparation!

This was your chance to join in with the women,

Get cooking with a celeb couple,

And let them know that you’ll give them double

Masalas for life,

For every man with a wife

And those who are looking

Work hard and get cooking,

What a khazaana,                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

This Shan ka pakaana,                                                                                                                                                                                                         

You missed out on this one,

4.  SHAADI KAY ALLAAWA AUR BHI KAAM HAIN

Head hunters this one’s for you,

But then again shadee online

This is not a bad time

To use this line

And let people know

That shaadi cannot be taken so lightly

Marriages are timed

According to our minds

And rishtas are made

With everyone’s consent.

Go for the goal,

Once you’ve asked them to enroll

Aurat march is just the right time

To talk about why

The right man is important

And rishta aunties will fall behind

Where you take the sign

That shadees online

Are made for like minds

 

5. MERAY KAPRAY MERI MARZI

Lawn Designers You could have won

You could have aced this one

Had you just begun

to think of the opportunities

that come with the jazba

Runway designers are doing it

So why can’t you match it

And create awareness

with fabrics and fairness

Flowers or prints

To add color to the day

And  let women have their say

 

 

6. MUJHAY KYA MALOOM TUMHARA MOZA KAHAAN HAI?

We love this one and this is why

Samsung, Dawlance, Hitachi

Were you not aware

That Washing machines can be run by men

And women can go ahead and do their thing

Teach a man how to do it

And aurats will buy it

Just so they can get the men to use it

And keep the mozas in check

Catch some Netflix instead

And finally get some rest

7. KHANA KHUD GARAM KARNA SEEKHO

Dawlance, Panasonic and the rest

Microwaves are the BEST

Teach the men how to use them

And give the women a break from the kitchen

National will sort out the cooking

While you do the booking

For a Microwave giveaway

Opportunity has come your way

Women don’t think twice

If the price is right

So get your act together

Get the men to warm the khaana   

So the women can enjoy their gharaana!

And there we have it! Brands have cannibalized every aspect of our lives in present times. But that’s not all bad, if they help to champion a cause that’s close to our hearts and get the word out there with some humour, larger than life presence and (some big bucks won’t hurt either). It’s all for a good cause, and why not. So many campaigns have been channeled through a cause that’s close to our hearts. Everyone CAN be the winner – make women proud and get the men to join in – a nation awaits your call!
