Desi ammis are truly one of a kind. Their love for their offspring knows no bounds. Even though their child might no longer be a child anymore, to them he’ll always be their wee little babe.
From being an expert at helicopter parenting to being an expert mind reader – they do it all. They have no shame when it concerns the well-being of their child. This fact was recently reiterated on desi Twitter.
The following might just be the best thing you read all day, so be warned!
Sana (@sanabajipls), recently tweeted about how her mother wanted the CEO’s number so she could ask him to let her leave early because of the rain.

Her witty commentary prompted others to share their experiences as well. @rozenameh tweeted about how his mom insisted on talking to his thesis supervisor to extend his deadline because she saw he was struggling. Meanwhile, @DrAamer wrote about how his mother came to fetch him home from college during student riots.
However, @sajeershaikh had the best recollection. She tweeted that her parents drove to and waited for an hour for her first meet up with her bosses. Her father kept checking in and her mother was upset that she was having dinner with two men. Her mother said, “apne boss ka number do, usey bataon ke aisay nahi chalega”.

I don’t know about you, but I loved reading people’s responses in this Twitter thread. Though our mothers might be nosey, they have our best interests at heart. They’ll do everything in their power to keep us safe and warm.
If you have a wholesome story of when your mother went out of her way and embarrassed you, let us know, we’d love to hear about it!
