A Ray of Hope That Flickered Ever Too Often
Bakhtawar was a ray of hope for many young girls who saw empowerment, emancipation and self-reliance in the beginnings of her story. When she rejected patriarchy, decided to go it alone with her mother and escape the cliched shackles of what society wants us to do as women, we rooted for her.
But then, her short-sighted decisions, perpetual brush with danger (some of which was of her own making) and inability to speak at the right time to the right person has left us quite non plussed, and a bit in the middle of no man’s land. We want to root for her still, but her decisions leave a big question mark in the air – every time she takes them! Do you agree?
Dilawar and Bakhtawar – Naive Much?
After all that happened, how can Bakhtawar trust Hooriya even for a minute? How can Dilawer not see through Hooriya? Is he completely naive or in denial? Furthermore, Hooriya’s conspiracies are never ending but we are surprised at Dilawar, as to how he cannot figure out who is creating all the character defamation on social media. He belongs to the same political field as Hooriya and must be aware of how social media is manipulated to serve one’s own purposes.
The Disappointment That Is Ahad
Ahad you disappoint us. You knew that Bakhtawar was never interested in you, so why all this shikwa? We thought you would stand by her at this point. Is it that you cannot handle the fact that Bakhtawar might have feelings for Dilawar?
Saving Moments
The first wife taking a stand for the younger wife was endearing and a much-needed message to send across. Can Dilawar’s mother see through him, and realize that there is a possibility of something more developing between Dilawar and Bakhtawar? Hence, she is desperate not to have Bakhtu/Bakhtawar back in the house or anywhere near Dilawer.
The drama highlights a sad human aspect – how, as media and audiences, we are always curious to find out more about someone’s personal life and will go to any extent to uncover the details.
