3 New Dramas On Our TV Screen, But Which One Are You waiting For The Most? Scroll To Get A Rundown On the Story!

1. Jhok Sarkar: The Complete Package – Action, Thrill, Romance
If you craved a hint of action, drama, thrill and more of the same in any order, Jhok Sarkar might be the one to watch! Farhan Saeed promises to deliver loads of action as a police inspector and later, perhaps turned rebel(?) trailer suggestion. And if that’s not all, he is joined on the screen by none other than Hiba Bukhari – the first time pairing seems to be working onscreen and the story line suggests a battle of good and evil forces with our hero and heroine taking the lead.
The story transitions to a village where Hiba Bukhari’s character is a teacher. The frames suggest fast paced action, lots of it, and thouigh our dramas are yet to ace this genre, the trailer suggests they just might have this time! With Saife Hassan on the driving seat, and Hashim Nadeem’s writing, yes the bar is set high after Parizaad, fans are hoping for an adventure drama season with this one!
P.S. Don’t ignore the romance between our leads, they seem to be setting the screen on fire, and we hope so!
It is written by Hashim Nadeem Directed By Saife Hassan and it is a Momina Duraid Production to be aired on HUM TV. Jhok Sarkar features Hiba Bukhari and Farhan Saeed in the lead as well as a strong support cast with Asif Raza Mir, Maham Shahid,
2.Guru – For The Social Message Lover In You
Ali Rehman Khan will be essaying the character of an intersex person in upcoming drama series Guru. The teasers screened so far seem to be addressing multiple social issues touching upon marginalized communities to drug use. While the recent mini series Sar e Rah also touched upon the challenges of the intersex community amidst us, Guru addresses the issue from a different standpoint.
Guru’s life as seen in the teaser so far, reflects the tragedy of leading a veiled existence for persons like him who exist on the peripherals of society. Will the narrative hit the right buttons and will the message be as impactful as the teaser visuals onscreen so far? Intersex community and its challenges is a highly sensitive topic especially in the Pakistani social sphere. How the dynamics are represented can lead to monumental change in mindsets (if done right). Even though the stories coming out of this genre are now adding to the content onscreen, it must be said that we still need many more in order to create awareness, and gradual change in how we treat and view an entire community.
Hence hoping here that Guru strikes the right balance!
Guru is produced by Wajahat Rauf and Shazia Rauf and directed by Bilawal Hussain Abbasi of Ho Mann Jahan. It will be aired on Express TV.
The cast at Guru features Ali Rehman Khan, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hira Khan, Umer Aalam amongst many others. The drama series is set to screen soon on Express TV.
3. Neem: A Vintage Kinda Love Story For The Tragic-Romantic In You
Fans who couldn’t wait to see these two together onscreen have to wait more as Ameer Gilani and Mawra Hocane give us Neem. However the story suggests a tragic turn of events at the outset where Asshad’s aka Ameer Gilani loses Zimal aka Mawra Hocane to possibly, Arsalan Naseer’s character. The frames shift continents as Ashhad seeks a new beginning. Reportedly shot in the scenic valleys of Kashmir, the story takes us to the US as well.
Neem has been penned by Kashif Anwar of Sabaat and directed by Shahzad Kahmiri of Parizaad and Sabaat. Kashif Anwar promises to deliver a love story but won’t stop at that. With a star cast that seems to be a mix of seasoned and new talent, we hope to see multiple stories unravel onscreen.
