Kaifi Khalil is back on our radars but did he ever leave? A born to be singer rising from his trials and tribulations, Kaifi Khalil – a Balochi singer and songwriter started singing as a child hailing from a musical background. You probably know him as the singer of the mega hit and loved Kahani Suno! He started his journey by writing his soulful songs from his room and his family never hindered his passion asking him to give it up for more practical ventures.
His late father, Rajab Ali Surizehi was a musician as well who played the Balochi Banjo and guitar and his brother too used to compose poetry. Somethings just run in your DNA? After his father’s death, Kaifi had to go through a new string of struggles to make ends meet, working odd jobs. He saved his earnings and purchased an old guitar to follow his love of music. Continuing to develop his love and talent for music – he then trained himself to play the guitar by watching YouTube tutorials.
Kaifi Khalil has had no formal education but wholly and solely writes his own music and bases his Art on his personal experiences and heartbreaks. Luckily, a friend introduced him to the Performing Arts Academy (MAD school) in Karachi where he received his formal music training at no costs. There he collaborated with various renowned musicians under the guidance of talented directors Nida Butt and Hamza Jafri.
Kaifi’s Discovery & Rapid Rise To Fame
He launched his YouTube Channel in 2015 publishing his first video in 2016. His debut choice of song was the cover of a Balochi classic “Mani Tawe Dost” For several years he perservered and uploaded covers and originals to his Youtube channel before finally discovered in 2022 by Coke Studio’s music producer, Xulfi. He had contributed to Coke Studio’s hit “Kana Yaari” alongside Eva B and Abdul Wahab Bugti.
The singer has enjoyed a flash rapid rise to fame credit to his calming vocals and soothing melodies. His single “Kahani Suno 2.0” has remained in the top lists of Spotify songs in Pakistan since its debut in 2022, with a massive hit of 247 million listeners on YouTube. It also become a seriously popular hit across the border and across the globe. The ARY drama, Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha has also taken up the song’s fame, audiences know the drama by the song and not the other way round. The demand for his concerts are through the roof and he is currently in London for his performances with future ones planned in Canada too. Truly, making waves across the globe.

Just a few hours ago, he has created a buzz with his new heartbreak anthem for broken souls, Mansoob written and composed by Kaifi Khalil himself and the calming video directed by Muhammad Baloch.
