Well, the temptation to stretch episodes once the story starts getting views is so infectious that even dramas like Kuch Ankahi cannot escape it. All our beloved characters seem to be running around in circles and frustrating us with practically zero development in their journey.

Saif is also doing the same, forever indecisive & influenced by his mom. We were hoping we would finally see him freeing himself, but sadly, not in this episode.
Salman, Please Recover Your Charm!
Salman turns out to be such a crybaby and desperate, totally taking away his charm and making him more of a nuisance. We wonder if Aliya and Salman are also as bored as we are of just going around in circles and making their relationship an almost lost opportunity to communicate meaningful messages in an entertaining way.
Bhai Salman ya to itnay dharalay sey Canada janay ka ailaan nahin kerna tha, aur ker liya hai to stay strong and don’t go crying to Aliya.
Does Aliya Deserve Better Than Asfar & Salman?
We are really wondering if Aliya should just forget about both Asfar and Salman. Who wants to put up with man-babies?
Ah … if Salman was not enough, we now have to deal with baby Asfar, still showing attitude and acting like a 2-year-old, refusing to go see his father, even though he is seriously ill.
Aliya does need to however analyze what she wants in life. When you really value something and someone want something in life, sometimes you have to let go of your ego and belief that “If you like me, if you get me, you should know what I mean without me saying it”.
Samiya Wins The Day!
The best line of the episode was from Samiya “Agar meray saath ghalat na hua hota to mujhay apni strength ka pata hi na chalta”. What a sad yet true reality depicted by this strong and endearing character.
The Wrap
Aliya manages to pay her Chacha and Phuppo their share and gives us a heart-winning moment when she tells this to Agha Jaan.
The various storylines are slowly wrapping up. Mona finally speaks up. Deepak and Neha’s father also straightens up and realizes his mistakes and we are glad to see that. We also missed Thanvi uncle in last night’s episode.
Our Questions
Have we as audiences become so conditioned to toxic or dominating, “take charge”, male heroes that when Salman says: “I will always be there for you, I will put my ego aside and come after you”, we find him desperate? Or are we not able to see Aliya taking him for granted because he is always there for her & her family?
Their communication gap is the biggest problem here. When will the writer and director give us that one crucial conversation between them?
What do you think Samiya has decided?
Finally, though we’re loving Kuch Ankahi, the narrative as it is placed right now, is making us question that: In the quest for strong female leads, are we compromising the male leads?
