Both Mannat and Murad are attached to their families and willing to do anything for them. But now they are at a point where they have to choose between love and family…When Murad asks Mannat “which perfume do you wear”, and Mannat responds, “have you called me to ask this question?”, it was both cute & funny and made us smile. Should Itrat take a stand for her husband? Her mother called her to get the elder brother in-law (Shaukat) bailed out from the police station instead of calling him herself, something she should have done…
Only Son Dilemmas
Mannat Murad shows the insecurities of a mother in this society with regards to her only son. She is paranoid that here daughter in-law will end up controlling him. The sad yet harsh reality is shown that because of this insecurity, she is even okay to make the wrong choice. Her priority is not who will make her son happy, but who can she control more.
Mannat’s brother getting angry at her about lying to him and emotionally blackmailing her was a bit dramatic. It could have been played down a bit. But it also made Mannat realize that she is breaking her family’s trust and refused to be part of these secret meetings and phone calls anymore. Murad’s mother can go to any extent and Shaukat is her righthand man in this conspiracy. Let’s see what happens when Murad finds out about Shaukat spying on him and following Mannat.
Murad’s Mom And Her Azra Obsession
The question is, will Azra’s intervention help change Murad’s mother’s mind? Maybe reverse psychology will be in play and just to save her son from Azra, she will agree to make Mannat Murad’s wife.
