Ali Abbas & Laiba Khan From Baylagaam Debate Over Tiktok! FUCHSIA Exclusive

The drama “Baylagaam” is written by Huma Hina Nafees. It is directed by Zahid Mehmood and is brought to life by the dynamic production team of Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi from 7th Sky Entertainment. The ensemble cast includes talented actors like Ali Abbas as Afnan, Laiba Khan as Ramsha, Haroon Shahid as Shani, Tuba Anwar as Alizeh, Shabbir Jan as Sajid, Shaheen Khan as Mehnaz, Kashif Mehmood as Anwer, Humaira Bano as Salma, Noor ul Hassan as Qasim, Alizeh Zaid as Ainy, Saima Qureshi as Afshan, Saleem Mairaj as Danish Kamal, Aiman Zaman as Hania, Taqi Ahmed as Fahad, and Sohail Masood in key roles, promising a thrilling and captivating viewing experience.

The fresh pairing from the drama: Afnan and Ramsha AKA Ali Abbas and Laiba Khan, came into FUCHSIA HQ for a fun and enlightening conversation with Editor, Rabia Mughni.

Did She Fear Negative Feedback For Ramsha’s Character?

“The script spoke on an important issue, I said I will do it but as a heroine, I was a little scared of getting the wrong message across. But Ramsha is not negative. She is selfish, she just wants to make her career. So, in the episode where she left her parents and ran away, I am getting a lot of bad comments, backlash. But I was mentally prepared for it. And it’s good that people will know what happens to the wrongdoer. I am not telling the rest of the story.”

Ali Speaks About Ramsha & Afnan’s Character In Baylagaam

“I think that Ramsha is a perfect example of today’s young girls, she has nothing to do with being negative or positive. Mujhe nahi lagta ke Ramsha is a negative character. Mujhe lagta hai ke she is very immature and very overly ambitious. So when you’re overly ambitious, then you don’t care about others. You just need to achieve your goal. And that’s exactly what Ramsha is doing. Abhi toh khair bahut se events unfold hone.

On his character, Afnan has his faults, he is making mistakes but he is enjoying it. Afnan is a very real character, everyone might deny that we are not like Afnan, but actually, everyone is like Afnan.”

About Directors, Producers & Others In The Industry Harassing!

Laiba: “Girls work in many different fields today. Our industry has had a more bad image MAYBE because we are showing things openly. They think oh because they are showing romance, are friends etc it must be bad but these things are happening in schools, hospitals, offices, everywhere. Why are they hiding harassment? Why are we not getting to know about them? Because they are hiding. But as far as the industry and the director are concerned, I think there are such directors. We have also heard a lot about harassment. And this is the case in the industry. And it is not just in the industry here. Everywhere, wherever there is work.”

Ali:

“I think with some directors, I have seen it personally, them flirting, but I have not seen directors go to the extent Danish has in the drama. This is at the coordinator level. All these girls who aspire to be an actress, and they don’t have a background, they don’t have information, they get exploited at some level.”

Ali Abbas

I think that the known directors, I have never seen them doing anything like this. Like our director for Baylagaam Zahid, he treats Laiba, Tuba and all the other girls in the drama like children. So those girls, who have just come in the industry, they might get stuck. At the director level, I think maybe it happened back in time, but right now, I haven’t seen this in directors. They get scared, especially with this coming to surface and now they can use the hashtag MeToo and anyone can be exposed.

Ali Delves Deeper On The Arising Conflict Between Parents & Kids

“I think, honestly, that parents are not at fault because they are over protective about their children. But where the fault would come, is that I would say that we live in a third world country, where we are facing many crisis. Every father and mother is working to feed their children. The problem is that children outgrow their parents because of the technology around them. Parents are not able to cope with it because they are in a different struggle. So they are not able to give their children time in that way, nor are they able to care for them. I don’t think it’s a generation’s fault. Those who have a lot of money and are living a luxurious life, they stay updated with their children. They don’t let them outgrow. Hence, they move on with their interests.

So, when you give an example of a girl like Ramsha, her father is not a rich man. That he will do research on the internet, he will focus on changing his mindset. Ramsha is another generation, her father is another one. So I think it’s something that has been a downfall of parents in every era.”

Laiba Asks What’s Wrong In Wanting To Become An Actress?

“I think that there is nothing wrong in girls working. Parents’ support is very important and there are some girls like Ramsha who take the wrong step. So when Ramsha asked her father for permission to go on a morning show, she asked because she needed permission and support.”

In my house, this industry was not considered good at all but my mother supported me. Then my mother convinced my father. She used to come with me to the shoot and sit all day. If a girl wants to become an actress, what’s wrong with that?

Laiba Khan

Parents Should Trust Their Children, Says Ali!

“Parents usually tell you, what have you seen? What do you know about life? They underestimate their kids. In turn a rebellion is born in that child. We need to understand where they are coming from. The world changes and we can’t still live in the glory days of our youth. We need to trust them, listen to them, instead of discouraging them. If he rebels, he is wrong. Then he takes a wrong step. So I think that parents should trust their children. Not every child will come first. Every child will not be creative. If I expect that my two children will be like me, that is not possible. One of my children may be, one may not be.”

Laiba Khan’s View On Tik Tok!

“I think that people think that Tik Tok is a bad app, Tik Tokers are bad but we have to get this out of our minds. Tik Tok is also an app like Instagram, we often show bad things about tiktokers in dramas which we shouldn’t do because they have a journey which started from zero and has reached millions so they have to work hard. I feel that because some tiktokers go down the wrong path which they have to face who is going forward in a wrong way, and whatever she has to face, will be shown. So, I feel that in some or the other dramas, they are showing something right, and something extra wrong as well.”

Ali Abbas’s Differing Views On Tik Tok!

“I am not on for Tik Tokers. I am not for anything which is not productive. This generation should rather read the books, read history. I am sorry if I sound very boring. You have no idea what the future holds for all of us. We are going through the worst time in our history right now we are not realizing. It is time to work hard,

You are just reproducing the dialogues of Indian films or songs? There is no class in it, there is nothing to teach. Now, as the issue of Palestine is going on, I was so happy that Ushna made a video specially. She explained very well about had happened in history and what is happening now. So, duniya ka jitna buddha tharki hai, wo usko TikTok me baith ke dekh rahe hain. Aap samajh nahi rahi hai ki is ek cheez se kitni generations taba ho rahi hai. Aur ek pandra saal ki bachi dance karke dikha rahi hai, baby doll mein sohne di. It is unacceptable for me.”

“So, the representation of Tik Tokers in the drama is very accurate in my opinion because they become materialistic, they become de tracked, they deceive and cheat their parents and eventually the result is that their parents also get stuck in some problem because of them. So, I think that’s a true representation, at least from my end.”

Ali Abbas
