“Very Filmy” has just graced us with its OST; let us tell you, it’s like a breath of fresh air in Pakistani dramas!

It seems like Fairytale has sparked a revolution, introducing a whole new wave of rom-coms that resonate perfectly with Gen Z audiences. Take “Very Filmy,” for instance – it’s breaking new ground with its fresh and age-appropriate pairings, capturing that magical essence reminiscent of the 60s era, something we’ve seldom seen in Pakistani dramas before.
Pakistan is undeniably experiencing a rom-com renaissance, and we’re all here for it! Very Filmy’s cinematography is spellbinding, transporting viewers into a world of enchantment and wonder. And let’s not forget about the soul-stirring OST that sets the perfect tone for this delightful journey.
The OST of “Very Filmy” is truly living up to its name – it’s incredibly filmy in the best possible way!
Tere Rang, Rang wraps viewers in winter feels with the very appealing onscreen pair of Dananeer and Ameer Gilani bonding over coffee, phone conversations and of course a filmy couple waltz complete with shimmer, shine, blooms and lost in love expressions to match!
But soon after, just as we slip into the soulful depths of Ahmed Ali’s vocals, “Doob Jaon Tau Tera Sahara Chahiye” the mood shifts to add more drama to the frames. This time, it’s a vintage feel as our hero, heroine switch outfits and give us feels from That 70’s Show, polka dotted red top, 3 piece sky blue suit and all. Adding more character to the frames.
Well, isn’t that what a romcom should be made of? Except that the song is more dreamy than a romcom, but perhaps that’s the ‘new’ in a Ramzan drama from a team that hopes to catch audiences with ‘out of the box’ casting, locations, and hopefully, scripting! With Mohammad Ahmad in the writer’s seat and Ali Hassan adding oomph to the director’s chair, what else would the Pakistani drama audiences hope for?
Director Ali Hassan is no stranger to rom coms with Fairytale 1 and 2 under his belt and Mohammad Ahmed has a vast reportoire of plays, spanning all genres to his credit, The Baaraat series, Kuch Ankahi, and Mehreen Jabbar’s Ramchand Pakistani to name a few.
The pair of Dananeer and Ameen Gilani is complemented by Umer Khan and Ameema Saleem. The couple will hopefully add more charm to the story as viewers await the promos to reveal more about the story line of Very Filmy.
Very Filmy is giving off soothing vocals, offsetting the signature romcom feels of Ramzan dramas with a more vintage look. Audiences have asked for less slapstick comedy and more substantial stories in Raman dramas content, will Very Filmy be able to bridge that gap?
The cast of “Very Filmy” is star-studded, featuring an ensemble of talented actors including Bushra Ansari, Ali Safina, Mira Sethi, Ukhano, Nabeel Zuberi, Ameema Saleem, Deepak Perwani, Salma Hassan, Syed Adnan Jaffar, Noureen Mumtaz, Tehseen Wajahat, Rabiya Rizwan, Momina Munir, and Manal Siddiqui. Directed by Ali Hassan and produced by Momina Duraid. It is penned by Mohammad Ahmed.
“Very Filmy” is a Ramazan drama and will be airing on Hum Tv.
