Dil Pe Dastak is a drama that will fully immerse you in the story as each episode unfolds…here are 5 reasons why it’s a delightful and enjoyable watch.

What makes a love story a 10? It’s all about the dynamic contrast between a non-serious hero and a serious heroine, precisely the formula we craved this Ramzan! Late-night rooftop talks, unrecognized love, hate, family drama – every element meticulously crafted to embody the essence of a perfect love story.

Dil Pe Dastak is penned by Hassan Imam and directed by Ali Masud Saeed. It is produced by Momina Duraid and the cast includes Khaqan Shahnawaz and Aena Khan in lead along with Saman Ansari, Taimoori, Farhan Ali Agha, Uzma Beg, Arjumand Rahim, Behroze Sabzwari, Sakina Samoo, Saleem Sheikh and Parishae Adnan.

The Shakeels and The Ghanis all live together in a house filled with many different, fun, and lovable characters. It’s a drama that slowly immerses you, like dipping your toe in quicksand. It pulls you into the complex yet heartening world of “Dil Pe Dastak”. The characters unravel their quirks, surprises, storylines and unique personalities episode by episode. And before you know it, you are roped in and bond with the characters on screen. All the characters in the drama are so well-defined, it really makes for an immersive watch.

Here are some more reasons why we have been finding “Dil Pe Dastak” a super refreshing, genuinely fun watch:

1. The Lead Characters Are Indeed Well-Defined!

Khaqan’s portrayal of Saad is simply adorable! Obsessed with bulking up, wears his heart on his sleeve and worries about consuming enough protein, yet struggling with his relationship with his father, another angle we are really engrossed in. He often says, “Gym, meri mehbooba hai” however, he is genuinely kind-hearted and well-intentioned. Although Saad may not be overly sweet or romantic, he is certainly sensitive and knows when to apologize, especially when he unintentionally hurts Sara. For instance, when Saad makes fun of Sarah’s father’s second marriage, he later realizes he may have crossed a line and promptly apologizes.

Aena’s character, Sarah is resolute about pursuing her career and establishing herself. While most Ramzan dramas tend to portray female characters with silly, bubbly, personalities, Sarah is depicted as a well-grounded and ambitious yet sensitive individual. She is not portrayed as frivolous or reliant on a man to rescue her.

2. The Father-In-Law & Daughter-In-Law, Partners In Crime

Saad’s mother, Rubeena, Punjab di juttni, and dada, Abdul Ghani, always bring laughter whenever they appear on screen. Saad’s mother’s Punjabi accent and witty dialogue delivery never fail to crack us up, even when she’s not intentionally being funny. She’s the “say it as it is” kind of woman, the perfect partner in crime with dada, who, despite his high sugar, has a sweet tooth for meetha. It’s heartwarming to see her sneak in some meetha, parathas, and halwas for him, only to be caught in the act by her husband and dada’s health-conscious son, Mr. Riyaz, portrayed by Farhan Ali Agha.

The way they both try to cover up the sweet indulgence adds to the hilarity of the situation. And let’s not forget about dada – isn’t he just adorable? He embodies a fun-loving, positive spirit, living life to its fullest and inspiring us to do the same! Plus, his love for cartoons adds an extra layer of charm to his character.

3. Saleem Sheikh’s Character Shakeel!

Saleem Sheikh portrays Shakeel Saab, Sara’s father – he is a skincare brand owner who claims that his brand is utilized by all the best dermatologists in town, and he is genuinely passionate about beauty. His characterization is the most unexpected and one that we are thoroughly enjoying thus far. He is depicted as being conscious about taking care of his skin, applying creams, ensuring hydration, and impressively diligent about applying SPF. We are impressed with your beauty advices, Shakeel Saab. It’s about time we see men in our dramas taking self-care seriously, isn’t it?

He is certainly bringing to our dramas and the nation the notion that skincare is just as important and necessary for men! Hopefully, many men take note.

4. Saad and Sarah’s Banter Is Proof Of Their Amazing Chemistry

Saad and Sarah, transitioning from friends to enemies. Yeah, their relationship has this intriguing reverse journey. Though we know they will fall in love, the question remains: how? That’s what keeps us curious. Despite this anticipation, their banter is not only entertaining but also a clear indication of their electrifying chemistry.

They love to hate each other, constantly picking on one another. Yet, at the end of the day, they also stand by each other and come to each other’s rescue. If you enjoy dramas where the hero and heroine are destined for each other, secretly harboring feelings without realizing it, then “Dil Pe Dastak” might be the perfect watch for you. They are undeniably drawn to each other, engaging in playful banter and teasing, oblivious to their deeper connection.

5. Some Heartfelt Messages

The drama sure carries some food for thought too (retaining the essence of Ramzan dramas): Does one always need a biological mother to feel a maternal connection? Can nurture override nature? Yaseen, portrayed by Arjumand Rahim, may not be Jaani’s biological mother, and even though he has now discovered that his birth mother is Sanjeeda Khala, he knows he has only ever had one maternal figure in his life.

Jaani’s relationship with Sarah’s mother figure, Yasmeen, is so touching. Despite knowing that he is her husband’s son from a second marriage, she nurtured him, taught him, and had a heart generous enough to understand that he is not to blame. Even during Jaani’s birthday celebration, he specifically came down for Yasmeen because, as he states, she is the only mother figure he has ever known.

Are you keeping up with Dil Pe Dastak? What aspect of the drama do you find most entertaining?
