Shahrukh Khan is teaming up with Sujoy Ghosh for a movie called “King,” and it’s going to be a massive deal. And guess what? It’s not just any movie; it’s also the big-screen debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan.

And get this – they’re sparing no expense. With a jaw-dropping budget of Rs. 200 crores, you just know they’re pulling out all the stops to make sure this film is a cinematic extravaganza. From what we have gathered, it’s going to be raw, gritty, and unlike anything we’ve seen from Shah Rukh Khan in recent years. King will mark Suhana Khan’s debut in a leading role after her stint in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.
“King” is set to redefine the action genre in Indian cinema, as per Bollywood Hungama. With a whopping budget of $20 million, the film is poised to raise the bar for cinematic excellence. Adding to the excitement, Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment will produce the film, marking him not only as the leading star but also as the producer.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand is in discussions with stunt directors from the Western film industry to collaborate on “King.” The aim is to create a global action thriller that pushes the boundaries of cinematic excellence. Anand intends to blend real action sequences with VFX enhancements, demonstrating his commitment to delivering a visually stunning and immersive experience for audiences worldwide.
Shahrukh and Suhana won’t be playing father and daughter in “King.” Instead, Shah Rukh will portray a freelance assassin, a hitman, who takes it upon himself to protect a young girl, played by Suhana, whose life is in peril. This dynamic is inspired by Luc Besson’s 1994 French Action Thriller “Leon,” where Jean Reno’s character protects a girl, akin to SRK’s role in “King.”
Director Sujoy Ghosh is adding his twist to this protector-pupil relationship, promising a full-on action film with stylized stunt sequences. And the exciting part? Suhana will also be diving into the action alongside SRK.
King will be shot from May over 5 months and hit the big screen in the 2nd half of 2025.
