Ed Sheeran is set to recreate SRK’s iconic dialogues & THE pose on Kapil Sharma’s Netflix show this weekend. Here is what you can expect!
Popular Indian comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s beloved comedy show has reached new heights on Netflix. Based on the original format, the show is now titled The Great Indian Kapil Show. Seven episodes in, the next episode releasing this Friday will feature four-time Grammy Award winning, British singer-songwriter and musician known for his hit songs such as “Shape of You,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Perfect.”
On Wednesday, Netflix shared a teaser showing Ed Sheeran singing desi songs about Indian food, discussing his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat, and playfully bantering with Kapil Sharma.
Ed Sheeran’s episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show will stream on Saturday at 8 PM on Netflix. Ed Sheeran is seen in an all-black outfit, captivating the audience with his performance. He will sing his hit track “Shape of You,” but with a twist—he’ll perform a Punjabi version. The episode features Sheeran making the audience swoon, laugh, and profess their love.
Seems Like Even Ed Sheeran Could Not Resist SRK’s Charm!
In yet again another crossover, we neither imagined nor asked for, the teaser also featured Ed reciting the iconic dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, “Bade Bade shehron mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain (These small things keep happening in big cities).” But that’s not all; he also seemed to nail the iconic SRK pose. It seems even Ed Sheeran couldn’t resist the charm of SRK.
Did You Know He Is Already A Pro At Speaking Hindi?
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming episode, as per the promos, will be Ed Sheeran speaking in Hindi. The promo revealed that even Kapil was shocked when he heard Ed speaking flawless Hindi.
While Kapil, with his exaggerated theatrics and antics, claimed he had specially come to meet him, Ed didn’t hold back, sweetly yet savagely replying no and how he has a show in Mumbai to attend. His reply in Hindi left Kapil shocked and Archana Puran Singh in splits. Kapil also asked him about his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan. Based on the promo, Ed is set to share his experience of visiting Mannat and meeting the superstar.
In March, Kapil had playfully hinted at Ed’s upcoming appearance on the show. He posted a photo with Ed, expressing, “Your songs always bring joy @edsheeran, but meeting you has made us adore you even more ❤️. You’re a sweetheart! Can’t wait to unveil your humorous side to the world. Lots of love and best wishes always, my friend ❤️.
