The 4th HUM Awards, held on April 23, 2016, at Karachi’s Expo Centre, celebrated the best achievements of 2015. Hosted by Sanam Jung, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Ayesha Khan, with Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chaudhry serving as emcees, the event was broadcast on May 28, 2016, on HUM TV and also aired on HUM Europe during Eid al-Adha.
The night prominently featured Diyar-e-Dil, which dominated the awards by winning Best Drama Serial, Best Director Drama for Haseeb Hasan, and Best Writer Drama for Farhat Ishtiaq. Additionally, Mikaal Zulfiqar received the Best Actor award for his role in Diyar-e-Dil, while Iffat Rahim was honored with Best Actress for her performance in Mohabbat Aag Si. Ahmed Ali Butt, Sanam Jung, and Vasay Chaudhry hosted the event, which celebrated exceptional talent from the past year. Alif Allah Aur Insaan stood out, winning Best Drama Serial, Best Director Drama Serial for Ahsun Talish, and Best Writer Drama Serial for Qaisera Hayat. Additionally, Adnan Siddiqui received the Best Actor award for his role as Rashid in Sammi, while Sajal Ali was honored with Best Actress for her performance as Sassi in O Rangreza. In a special category, Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Ali won Best On-Screen Couple for Yaqeen Ka Safar.
The 7th HUM Awards In Houston
The 7th HUM Awards, hosted by HUM Network Limited, took place on October 5, 2019, at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas. The event, broadcast on Hum TV, celebrated the achievements of 2018, with awards presented in 27 categories.
The ceremony featured a dynamic lineup of hosts, including Ali Rehman Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Sanam Jung, Ayesha Omar, Bushra Ansari, and Ahmad Ali Butt. Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila emerged as a standout winner, taking home several awards, including Best Drama Serial, Best Director Drama Serial for Kashif Nisar, and Best Writer Drama Serial for Bee Gul. Nauman Ijaz won Best Actor for his role in Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila, while Yumna Zaidi was honored as Best Actress for her powerful performance in the same drama. 8th HUM Awards 2022
The 8th Hum Awards took place on September 24, 2022, at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The event was hosted by Atif Aslam, Ali Rehman Khan, and Ushna Shah, who entertained the audience with their lively presence. The ceremony celebrated the best in fashion, music, and Hum Television Dramas of 2021 and was later televised on Hum TV. A total of 21 categories were awarded during the night.
At the forefront was Parizaad, which won Best Drama Serial Popular and saw Ahmed Ali Akbar awarded Best Actor Male Popular for his lead role. Ayeza Khan won Best Actor Female Popular for her performance in Chupke Chupke, with her on-screen pairing with Osman Khalid Butt earning them the Best On-Screen Couple Popular title. Additionally, Hashim Nadeem was recognized for his excellent writing in Parizaad.
As for this year, the competition looks fierce with some stellar performances in recent dramas. We’re particularly curious to see who will clinch the Best Actor title—there are many deserving contenders! With the bar set high, it’s anyone’s guess who will walk away with the top honors.
