Why did Sadaf assume that Ammar had been drinking? Why does the story show a strong and weak Sadaf at the same time, or are we being too harsh on a woman in love? Ammar shows how one betrayal or secret can lead to multiple lies to cover up that one lie, and why, despite not wanting to, he is driven towards Dania. Was Sadaf merely a trophy for him to win and keep, but not his true love?

Sadaf has to deal with the harsh reality of her decision to marry Ammar against her mother and brother’s wishes, and perhaps, the callings of her own heart?
Is the story Sunn Mere Dil, a call to Sadaf’s heart to listen to what it really wants? And a call to Ammar’s heart too.
Oh well, it seems that Bilal Abdullah and Hamsha are the only ones doing the listening in Sunn Mere Dil. They know what they want from the get-go. While the rest are lost in a sea of confusion.
Does Bilal Abdullah suspect what Ammar has been up to?
Is this the reason he has returned and now planning to hand him a 7-Star hotel to manage so that he has too much to lose if he continues with Dania? Is the script punishing Sadaf for being judgmental about Bilal Abdullah and now her choice Ammar, doing the same things for which she judged Bilal Abdullah.
What is Hamsha up to?
For a second we wonder if maybe, deep down she really does feel for Sadaf and hence she is warning her about Ammar, but then, given her conniving nature, we think she is making sure that Ammar doesn’t get too involved in Dania and leaves Sadaf, because that would mean the possibility of Bilal Abdullah and Sadaf being together, which she cannot risk at any cost.
Hamsha deserves credit for creating so many complications and insecurities within each character. Ammar’s inner complexes and insecurities are also thanks to her constant reminders that he is being promoted in his career only because Bilal Abdullah likes Sadaf.
How does Sadaf know that Ammar has been going to Dania’s place?
Sadaf represents many women who are haunted by their husband’s lack of attention and respect for them but stay in denial and hold onto every bit of evidence that helps them believe that all is okay. She was cursing herself for doubting that Ammar is up to something, totally forgetting that he didn’t receive her phone call 7 times and yet, received Hamsha’ call instantly.
Sadaf’s mom, missing in action or advice
Although it is strange to see such a transformation in the once self-assured Sadaf (before marriage), it is safe to say, that she received great guidance from her mother at the time. The same guidance is tragically lacking now as Sadaf’s mother spirals into a regressive lecture on how to stay married and reconcile with your life choices – a disappointment indeed. Especially as we had great hope from the mother’s character who had won us over many times due to her wise and well-meant advice.
Has Ammar really slept with Dania or is it just Dania creating this illusion in his mind?
Ammar is an intrinsically weak character. His own insecurity about Bilal Abdullah liking Sadaf has totally overcome his love for her, and he is now attracted towards Dania, somehow satisfying his ego that someone still wants him. His ego is hurt deep down for not being able to be Bilal Abdullah – as accomplished or as giving as he is, and he knows deep down that even Sadaf realizes this.
We wish Sadaf’s character was executed better. Or the creators intend to show that a sane girl can completely lose her mind and act irrationally when she finally likes someone, when she realises that maybe she made the wrong life decisions, and her own judgments come back to haunt her.
Forced the Storyline?
Finally, it has to be said that although Sunn Mere Dil is navigating a dramatic story line, the perpetual references to drinking alcohol seemed to be forced. Sadaf’s reference to hard alcohol, Ammar mentioning he did not drink, but Sadaf insisting to Hamsha that came home drunk when Sadaf never really saw him drunk seems not only confusing but unnecessary and also, unrelatable. Is Sadaf upset that Ammar might have been drinking or that he lied to her about going out with friends?
Subsequently, Dania also mentioning that Ammar was on his 3rd glass makes utterly no sense. The story in itself could have been a tightly knit, effective tragic or happy love story with its own set of conflicts – Hamsha being a very good example, rather than a drama fixated with alcohol and drinking problems which fail to hit impact with viewers because, like we said, it seems forced and unrelatable.
