Tan Man Neel O Neel is delivering a mix of subtle and direct messaging to audiences – from taking up the trauma and challenges of experiencing and then reposting sexual assault for men, to navigating social media presence for young girls and then, the beginnings of a relationship that will probably blossom into young love, but at the moment, it’s just about a healthy, wholesome bond in the making.

The story highlights how politicians can be ruthless, using someone’s tragedy and trauma for their own benefit. Poor Moon is stuck between Rao and Qaiser, both taking advantage of him in their own ways. He was promised anonymity, however, even though his name has been revealed now, he shows the courage to carry on, so that others do not suffer like him.
Critical Social Messaging
“48 hours mein report kerna thee, jo mein ney nahin keraai”.
Moon in TMNON
The drama is also educating us and perhaps calling out the system for a law that might not serve the victims of sexual assault. It was also critical to point out as Sonu’s mother did, that Moon is not the one who committed a crime, and therefore, should not feel ashamed of what he had to undergo.
“Tumhain apnay aap sey aur duniya sey sherminda honay ki zaroorat nahin hai, qasoorwar tum nahin ho, qasoorwar woh hai jis ney jurm kiya hai”
Sonu’s mother in TMNON
Sonu’s mother giving strength and courage to Moon was what he really needed. The most important support system for a rape survivor is his family and friends and of course, the lesson not to stay silent when we witness an injustice.
The Mob Mentality Fear Factor
“Meray paas hajoom hai, aur hajoom ko kisi saboot ki zaroorat nahin pertee”
Kami in TMNON
Kami’s dialogues were bone-chilling and underscored the reality of mob mentality in a society – a reality that has led to many tragic incidents and innocent lives lost in the real world. Shout out to the drama for making us all think about it.
A Wholesome Kind Of Love
Rabi and Sonu are just love, winning our hearts with their pure, honest and relatable relationship. It’s not about starry eyed, love at first sight for them, but rather, a bond that’s growing more wholesome with time. There is a mutual respect, a camaraderie and a sensitivity in their relationship – when Sonu jokes with Rabi about the storm waiting for her at home vis-à-vis Kami having watched her TikTok video, bit at the same time, appreciating her shawl – Tan Man Neel O Neel is showing young boys and girls how a relationship based on mutual respect can still be interesting, fun and endearing all at the same time.
The plot twist as to how the script has connected Rabi with Luddo and his mother is interesting. How will Ahsaan react when he sees Rabi wearing that shawl?
The way Rabi’s mom deflected her jithaani’s wedding plans for Rabi made us smile. Two veteran actors – Leyla Zuberi and Nadia Afgan delivering an engaging scene.
