We have Riya from Mann Mast Malang with us today — the talented Sahar Hashmi! Let’s hear from her!

Sahar Hashmi is one of those rising stars who made her mark in the entertainment world in no time! From playing a quirky firecracker to a sweet, lovey-dovey girl — she’s nailed every vibe with style. We’ve seen her light up the screen in the telefilm Tere Naam Ka Tattoo, the Eid special Viral Abba, the limited-series Ishq Hua, and the intense Zulm. And now, she’s charming everyone as Riya in Mann Mast Malang — her performance is truly winning hearts!
We’ve got this super talented young actress with us today, and yes, we love her iconic eye rolls (you know the ones!). So, let’s dive in and see what Sahar had to share with us!
Serving Looks AND Talent? Sahar Says, Why Not Both—But Let The Talent Talk!
We asked Sahar if she ever feels like she has to put in extra effort so people don’t reduce her success to just her looks. You know, that constant pressure of “don’t undermine my talent, please!” And her answer? A big fat yes.
Always, all the time.
Sahar Hashmi
She told us it’s always on her mind. Sure, you wanna look cute on camera—be the diva, the eye candy, the whole vibe—but that can’t be the whole story. She shared how her director Ilyas Kashmiri gave her the best advice: people won’t remember your outfit, they’ll remember your performance. And let’s be real, if you’re too busy worrying about your hair or angle mid-scene, you won’t even look good or act well. Sahar said you’ve gotta pick—are you here to just look pretty or actually perform? For her, it’s always been about the performance. The rest follows naturally. She admits she’s lucky to have the right people guide her early on, and it shows—girl’s got the talent, and she’s letting it shine!
Why Did She Say Yes To Ishq Hua?
One of the reasons was the director, Wajahat Hussain.
Sahar Hashmi
So, we asked Sahar what made her say yes to Ishq Hua—and she didn’t even hesitate. First reason? Wajahat Hussain, the director. Yup, that was a huge green flag for her.
She told us that every time she gets a new script, the first thing she wants to know is: “Who’s the director?” Not because of names or glam, but because she’s still new and super eager to learn. According to Sahar, it’s not just about the role or the co-stars (although that matters too), it’s really about: “Will I get to grow with this? Will I learn something new?” She said there’s still so much she doesn’t know about her own potential and craft, so projects like Wajahat Hussain in the industry help her explore that. And for Ishq Hua, the script, the learning opportunity, and working with the director made it a big, fat yes. Total student-of-the-craft energy — and we love for her for that!
Was There Anything About The Industry That Surprised Sahar?
When we asked Sahar if anything about the industry totally surprised her, she gave us a straight-up nope. According to her, it’s pretty much exactly how she imagined it would be.
It is exactly how I imagined it to be.
Sahar Hashmi
The glamour exists, sure, but it’s just a tiny slice of a much bigger, hard-working pie. What most people don’t see is the grind. There’s a lot of hard work happening behind those picture-perfect shots. And since Sahar studied Film and TV, none of it felt super new or shocking to her. In fact, she’s made content herself, so she’s totally aware of the chaos that goes on behind the camera. She walked in with her eyes open and her work mode on!
How Did Sahar’s Idea Of Love Glow Up?
My idea of love never changed, it is still the same.
Sahar Hashmi
Sahar says her idea of love didn’t totally flip—but it definitely got a mature upgrade. Back in the day, it was full-on film mode. Dream dates, rich vibes, materialistic goals, soft music, the works. Childhood love? Total sparkle and surface-level dreams.
But then adulting happened. She started earning, got real about life, and realized love isn’t about designer bags and candlelit clichés. Now, she’s all about good energy. A kind soul, zero toxic masculinity, and someone who knows how to be patient—those are her green flags. Basically, love for her went from movie scenes to peaceful reality.
How Is Sahar’s Relationship With Allah?
I say, I am Allah’s favourite I have never complained to Allah.
Sahar Hashmi
When Sahar was a kid, she felt like she missed out on a normal childhood. While other girls were out playing, she had responsibilities—especially because her mom was unwell and paralyzed. That made her angry and confused sometimes, wondering why things were different for her.
But then something changed inside her heart. Seeing her mom in pain made her soften up and feel a deep connection with Allah. She went through a short rebellious phase, but it didn’t last long. Now, she feels super grateful and calls herself Allah’s favorite. Whenever she gets stuck or confused, her problems somehow find a way to solve themselves.
Sahar believes it’s all about perspective. Even when things look rough, she tries to see the blessings hidden in every situation. This mindset shift turned her struggles into life lessons and blessings.
Sooo… How Did Mann Mast Malang Came To Sahar?
It just happened!
Sahar Hashmi
Okay, plot twist alert—Sahar had been hearing for over a year and a half that people were trying to pair her up with Danish Taimoor. But something or the other always kept getting in the way. She was even approached for Sher with him, but things just didn’t work out.
Then one day, Sahar randomly walked into the 7th Sky’s office for another meeting. She wasn’t even there for Mann Mast Malang! While casually chatting away with someone she adored, director Ali Faizan spotted her. Yup, pure fate moment. A few minutes of convo later—boom—he called her back, and the rest is history. That’s how Riya came into her life!
