It’s Thursday, time to take a break from the chaos and revisit the dramas that made us laugh, cry, and stay up way too late.

Throwback Thursday: 3 Iconic Pakistani Dramas That Never Get Old!

New dramas are always recharging our drama watchlist, but some stories stay with us long after the final episode. They’re the ones that pulled us in with unforgettable characters and moments that still live rent-free in our heads. Whether it was heartbreak, family drama, or love stories that made us believe in second chances, these classics hit different. So if you’re in the mood for a comforting throwback, these 3 dramas are worth every minute.

1. Dil-e-Muztar – For Those Who’ve Loved, Lost, & Faced The Bitterness Of Regret

Dil-e-Muztar is a story of unspoken love, missed chances, and how pride can quietly ruin the things we value most. It follows Sila (Sanam Jung), a sensitive and sincere young woman who has always loved her cousin Adeel (Imran Abbas). But Adeel, distant and emotionally closed off, never gives her the attention or affection she longs for. When her parents try to force her into an unwanted marriage, Sila runs away, and Adeel becomes both her rescuer and, unexpectedly, her husband. Their marriage starts cold and distant, but slowly, Sila’s gentle patience softens Adeel’s indifference. Just as life begins to settle, tragedy strikes, Sila loses her beloved son Affan due to Adeel’s betrayal with their neighbor Zoya, a loss that breaks her beyond repair and drives her away from everything she once held dear.

What sets Dil-e-Muztar apart is how it tackles the aftermath of emotional neglect and infidelity, and the irreversible pain it can cause. Sila’s world shatters not just from loss, but from the heartbreak of being replaced and unheard. As the years pass, lives move on, but the damage remains. Can regret rewrite the past? Can forgiveness truly mend what’s been broken? Dil-e-Muztar explores what happens when love fails you, and whether it’s ever too late to try again.

Written by Aliya Bukhari, directed by Shahzad Kashmiri, and produced by Momina Duraid. The cast features Sanam Jung, Imran Abbas, Saba Hameed, Aijaz Aslam, Sarwat Gilani, and more.

2. O Rangreza – For Those Who’ve Struggled To Unlearn What They Were Taught To Admire

O Rangreza tells the story of Sassi (Sajal Aly), a fiery and impulsive girl who grows up idolizing her father Khayyam (Naumaan Ijaz), a poet who lives in his own world of art, arrogance, and contradictions. Raised under his influence, Sassi mimics his behavior, even the way he mistreats her gentle mother. But as she chases his approval and dreams of a glamorous life, Sassi begins to see the cracks in the image she once worshipped. Her journey from blind admiration to painful self-awareness is raw, flawed, and full of hard truths..

At the heart of her chaos stands Qasim (Bilal Abbas Khan), her cousin and quiet admirer, who represents everything Sassi overlooks: kindness, integrity, and unwavering love. His presence is a quiet rebellion against everything Sassi thinks she wants. What makes O Rangreza stand out is how it explores identity, ego, and the complicated process of growing out of someone else’s shadow. It’s not your typical love story, it’s a coming-of-age tale dipped in color, chaos, and poetry.

Written by Saji Gul, directed by Kashif Nisar, and produced by Momina Duraid. The drama features performances by Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas Khan, Naumaan Ijaz, Sana Fakhar, Irsa Ghazal, Sonia Mishal, and more.

3. Yeh Raha Dil – For Those Who Believe That The Best Love Stories Start Unexpectedly

Yeh Raha Dil is the kind of story that makes you smile without trying too hard. Hayat (Yumna Zaidi), a spirited and fiercely independent girl with a complicated past, crosses paths with Zaki (Ahmed Ali Akbar), a charming and easygoing guy trying to escape a future he doesn’t want. Their first few encounters are anything but romantic, full of bickering, misunderstandings, and mismatched energy, but life keeps throwing them back together in the most unexpected ways.

What begins as an accidental friendship slowly turns into something deeper, as both Hayat and Zaki begin to see beyond each other’s defences. With strong performances, light-hearted moments, and emotional depth, Yeh Raha Dil is a reminder that love doesn’t always come in grand gestures, sometimes, it sneaks up on you in shared laughter, quiet support, and learning to trust again.

Directed by Siraj-ul-Haque, written by Mustafa Afridi, and produced by Momina Duraid. The cast features Yumna Zaidi, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Adnan Jaffar, Anam Gohar, and more.
