It’s weekend and we don’t want to end the week before revisiting the drama scenes that did it for audiences this week. So before Monday hits us with new epsiodes, and new dramas, let’s get to it with the scenes that impressed and deserve a mention!

1. Muamma
When Junaid turns up for some chai ki patti but ends up staying for tea time, both Saba Qamar and Ali Ansari aced the scene. Junaid, appearing just slightly under the influence of whatever JiJi had slipped in his dinner, and Jahan Ara, firm one moment, charming and playful another, and daringly seductive soon after. The soft lighting, carefully curated frames, including that chocolate cake and tea pot, brought it all together.

2. Kafeel
Jami dining with his in-laws was a sight to see. Emmad Irfani gave off a raw, almost uncouth feel, unconcerned how he might come off to his in-laws. The conversation was tense, and his expressions shifted every time Zeba’s father Jawad threw him an icy cold stare. The tension in the air cut like a knife and the scene delivered all that it was meant to – indignance from Jami, discomfort from the family members, pain from Zeba, and repressed anger from her father.

3. Muamma
Jahan Ara when she discovered that Asia has unveiled her secret was a force to be reckoned with. The expressions switched instantly and this pose revealed a side of JiJi Asia had probably never witnessed earlier. A scene that evoked fear and curiosity with intension emotions – and the question on every one’s mind – what would JiJi do next?

4. Meri Zindagi Hai Tu
When Ayra cried here, her pain overflowing, silent one moment, angry the next and then sobbing uncontrollably in her mother’s arms, Hania Aamir brought home the utter helplessness and tragedy that struck a young girl who had fought with everyone to make it happen, only to be deeply disappointed and left questioning her own decisions. Well played Hania.

5. Meri Zindagi Hai Tu
When Kamyar addressed Ayra’s father, lost, puzzled and forgetful, the scene conveyed Kamyar’s state of mind without over-playing his interactions. Bilal Abbas Khan nailed the performance by playing it subtle and even bordering on the comical. The scene delivered what it set out to, which was to portray Kamyar as not totally sober and definitely confused, unsure of his whereabouts or actions.

6. Kafeel
Zeba imploring to her mother that she could have at least talked to her before taking such a big decision, to marry her off just because she found a handerkerchief with a note and a number – it was a definite tear-jerker. Zeba cried her heart out and so did audiences. Sanam Saeed nailed Zeba’s tortured soul and our hearts went out to this young girl whose life changed in the blink of an eye, and who was now probably living her worst nightmare!

7. Case No. 9
When Kamran realized he’d lost the game, it was a late reality check but one that hit hard. Faysal Quraishi nailed the scene as he switched from arrogant, confident Kamran to a fumbling, agitated version who seemed visibly desperate now, his voice trembled and a nervous urgency took over his actions. Well played Faysal Quraishi – Kamran finally met his fate and we were there for it!
