Hello, hello. The wait is officially over because the first teaser of Leader, starring Kinza Hashmi and Ali Raza, is finally out. Yes, we might be a little late to this (global chaos and all), but now that we’ve caught up with everything— let’s break it down.

From the very first frame, the vibe is clear: intense, dramatic and charged. There’s tension in the air, the heat of a political rivalry brewing, and just a sprinkle of romance to keep things complicated. Opposing parties? Power play? We’re already sensing chaos — the good kind.
Now let’s talk Ali Raza. We last saw him as Shahnawaz Shah in Iqtidar opposite Anmol Baloch — brooding, sharp suits, controlled presence (which, by the way, had fans in a frenzy). But Leader feels different. This time, he seems more raw and more layered. There’s grit to the character. And honestly? We love to see that shift.
Kinza Hashmi, on the other hand, was last seen opposite Farhan Saeed in Shirin Farhad, serving vintage 70s/80s charm. But here? Entirely different energy. From the teaser alone, it’s clear she belongs to a political family — confident, commanding, and fully owning the screen. There’s dominance in her presence, and it shows.
We also get glimpses of Faran Tahir — and if you’ve been missing him onscreen, this one’s for you. He holds his own with that quiet, solid screen presence that instantly makes you pay attention. Add to that Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, Saqib Sumeer, Ali Safina, Sachal Afzal, Nadia Hussain, Syed Afzal Ali, Shaista Jabeen and others, and the ensemble already feels promising.
The drama is written by none other than Radain Shah — the mind behind Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, Aakhir Kab Tak, and Duniyapur. So safe to say, we’re expecting substance. It’s directed by Asad Mumtaz Malik (yes, the same director as Shirin Farhad — which makes this Kinza’s second project with him. Surprise, surprise). We even reached out to Asad Mumtaz Malik to get a little insight into what Leader is really about. In his words:
It’s a romantic drama serial etched against a political background.
Asad Mumtaz Malik – Director, Leader
And honestly, that’s all we needed to hear. If this teaser is anything to go by, Leader isn’t coming to play — it’s coming to shake things up. Let us know what you think!
