The ceremony marked another important milestone in the program’s mission to empower women from underprivileged and marginalized communities through professional beauty training and livelihood opportunities. A total of 60 women successfully graduated from this cohort, with 90% already self-employed, reflecting the initiative’s growing impact in creating sustainable economic opportunities for women.

Beauty for a Better Life equips women with professional beauty skills, enabling them to pursue financial independence and build dignified futures for themselves and their families. Through comprehensive vocational training, mentorship, and career support, the initiative continues to create meaningful pathways for women to thrive within the beauty industry.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Masarrat Misbah, President, Depilex Smileagain Foundation, shared: “Each graduate represents a story of resilience and transformation. Seeing 90% of this cohort already self-employed, and all of them empowered to build dignified livelihoods, reaffirms our mission. Together with our partners, Depilex Institute Karachi and L’Oréal, we are not just training women, we are restoring hope and creating pathways for marginalized communities to thrive.”

Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager & CEO, L’Oréal Pakistan, added: “The graduation of the second Beauty for a Better Life cohort in Karachi is a proud moment for us, because it reflects the real impact that skills, confidence, and the right support can create in women’s lives. At L’Oréal, we believe beauty has the power to open doors to opportunity, independence, and dignity. Through the support of Fondation L’Oréal and in partnership with Depilex Smileagain Foundation, we remain committed to empowering more women and supporting them in building sustainable livelihoods to shape a brighter future for themselves and their families.”

The event was attended by key representatives including Masarrat Misbah, President, Depilex Smileagain Foundation; Talat Rabani, Head of Depilex Institute Karachi; and representatives from L’Oréal Pakistan and program partners.

Talat Rabani, Head of Depilex Institute Karachi, highlighted the importance of vocational education in creating sustainable opportunities for women and reaffirmed the institute’s

commitment to equipping graduates with industry-relevant skills that support long-term economic independence.

The previous BFBL cohort also achieved an impressive 90% employment and self-employment rate, highlighting the program’s consistent success in supporting women on their journey towards economic empowerment and long-term sustainability. With the successful graduation of its second cohort, BFBL continues to demonstrate the value of sustained, long-term programming in creating meaningful economic opportunities for women. The program aims to build on this momentum in the years ahead, reaching more women and strengthening pathways toward confidence, independence, and dignified livelihoods.

Fully funded by Fondation L’Oréal, the global BFBL program reflects L’Oréal’s commitment to using beauty as a force for social change. Since its inception, the initiative has empowered over 67,000 women worldwide with vocational skills, equipping them to secure livelihoods through entrepreneurship and employment. Pakistan continues to be part of this global movement, with Depilex Smileagain Foundation as the lead NGO partner and Depilex Institute Karachi supporting local implementation through professional training.

As the lead NGO partner, Depilex Smileagain Foundation continues to play a vital role in identifying and supporting women who can benefit from vocational training and livelihood opportunities. Through this collaboration with L’Oréal and Depilex Institute Karachi, the initiative aims to further expand its impact and continue creating inclusive opportunities for women across Pakistan.
