Alif Drama is captivating viewers in a gradual, subtle kind of way. It’s not taking on Meray Paas Tum Ho head-on – suspense, drama and the infidelity of women is not on the cards. It’s not vying for the younger audiences and college kay din ki yaden, with some major patriotism feels – but yet, Alif’s quiet, storytelling evokes a humble demeanor that promises a trance-like following very soon. In fact, it’s threatening to take over our minds and hearts far beyond anything other drama serials can hope for this season.
Here are 6 reasons why the last episode caught our attention. Alif the drama might just be your go-to watch this winter.

1. Sajal has proven yet again that she claims her space on the screen.
“Sajal is phenomenal” says a viewer and we have to agree!
Sajal delivers a perfectly powerful performance – but is Hamza Ali Abbasi matching up to her? Sajal shows her mettle as an actress – the one to be reckoned with. Those who work with her must know that she’s going to give it her 101% so don’t fall short of your acting skills – because – she plans to ace it every time!

2. Jehangir – The Up & Coming Star!
Sajal’s brother in Alif played by Hadi bin Arshad has shown a glimpse of what budding talent can achieve. He proved that a small role doesn’t mean an insignificant one. Though his time was brief onscreen, Hadi pulled off a memorable performance. He captured audiences’ hearts and minds despite playing alongside a superstar like Sajal. We were sad to see him go, and hope he’s back in bigger roles in the future. Drama producers, zero in on this mega find!

3. We cried for Momina
As she desperately tried to arrange money to release her brother’s dead body from the hospital. The loss of a loved one is a near-traumatic experience, and when we added financial problems to the tragedy – the tears rolled freely. Many might have experienced a similar situation, but regardless, we all felt Momina’s helplessness, and we cried for her.
“The feelings were very real in all hospital scenes,” says one viewer. “Maybe many of us were able to relate to it and that’s why (we cried).”
4. Qalab-e-Momin a.k.a. Hamza Ali Abbasi
Apologies but Momina is stealing the show for us so far. Are you giving her that space or she’s claiming it? We’re not quite sure but we’re looking forward to Umera Ahmed’s Qalbe-Momin to stand up and assert his story too. The upcoming episodes promise more bite in the plot where Momin should come into his own – and we’re waiting anxiously.
“I just skipped the whole Hamza’s part. he’s boring.” – OUCH, that hurt! One viewer minces no words for Qalb-e-Momin!
However, hold on Hamza, all is not lost as some die-hard Hamza Ali Abbasi fans vouch for him to say: “Hamza is definitely stealing hearts!” – Well, we hope so too!
5. Sajal’s Friends
#Friendsbelikefamily. You’ve stayed true to this hashtag. You two are probably the best part of this episode. When families are going through a rough time, it is friends who can give you some much-needed respite – dosti nibhaana koi aap se seekhay.
Thank you for helping Momina. You won our hearts & gave us serious friend goals!
6: Dada Jee Vibes
Dada jee your dialogue “Allah to dil badal sukta hai” was lajawab. We want a dada like you! As one viewer put it: “Dada Jee kamal hain”. And we do agree!

That’s it then. Alif’s latest episode is a wrap. This slow-paced story had us from the word go, but as the episodes roll by, we are no longer mere onlookers. We cheer for the characters’ smallest victories, we cry for their loss, and we hope they resolve their life stories to reach a happy end. Will they or won’t they? In Alif drama, it is the journey that matters – We hope you’re watching.

You forgot to mention the younger qalb e momin played by Pehlaj hasan.. he’s amazing!
Yes, you are right. He deserves a special mention! Superb and heart felt performance!
