Named after the famous footballer, Riccardo Montolivo, it is currently an online store which offering fashionable clothing, shoes and perfumes. The entrepreneur and brain behind Montolivo – Ammad Arif, gives us some insights about the brand, how he keeps things local and yet not compromise on quality, as well his plans for the future prospects of his label!
1. Inspiration

Montolivo is a French fashion inspired brand that wishes to bring the fashion culture of Paris to Pakistan, which is why the word “Paris” is part of its logo. The brand aims to provide quality, fashionable products with unique prints to people of all ages.
2. Creative Process

Ammad is not just the owner of the brand, but its sole designer too. He designs trendy and fashion forward clothing on a software and takes inspiration from international brands. His passion is evident in his work since he aims to market local products with international standards, which is not such an easy task. His clothing touches the very hard-to-reach middle ground between high and low end.
3. Patriotism and Production

Montolivo tries to support the local economy by providing locally designed clothing. However, their shoes are produced in Turkey and their raw materials for perfumes come from the U.A.E. Montolivo tries to eliminate plastic usage and other waste and is currently using card material for its shoppers but will soon move towards woven bags.
4. Best-sellers

The Striped Signature Jackets are Montolivo’s best sellers, and the most recommended product as well. They do have other items including t-shirts, backpacks, cushion and phone covers, some of which have limited edition prints as well.
5. Future Prospects

In the near future, Montolivo aims to broaden its horizons and reach in the Pakistani market. Some celebrities Montolivo would like to be associated with to help take take it to the next level are Fahad Mustafa, Ahmed Godil and Ayesha Omar. Participating in a Fashion Week would be a dream come true and a huge stepping stone for the brand.
Ammad plans on expanding Montolivo and opening a retail store soon. His vision to keep his brand environmentally friendly and in support of the local economy is praiseworthy. With upcoming brands like Montolivo in the game, perhaps 2020 is the year we can adopt the ‘Be Pakistani, Buy Pakistani’ slogan with some real pride!
