Tana Bana is the upcoming Ramzan prime time watch from HUM TV, but the question is, will it manage to offset Suno Chanda fame? Ummm … not that we plan to pit one against the other but, well, is there any harm in dreaming?
Tana Bana Is The New Rom-Com Drama From HUM TV
They teasers are certainly doing what they’re best at – teasing, that is. A star-studded cast comes together in Danyal Zafar, Alizeh Shah, Komal Rizvi, Javeria Abbasi, Amir Qureshi, Ismath, and Hassan Noman. .
Alizeh Shah is a seasoned player indeed. She landed a HUM Award for her role as Palwasha in Ishq Tamasha. We say her onscreen as Dua in Ehd-e-Wafa recently as well as many other projects onscreen, including Mera Dil Mera Dushman.
On the other hand, Danyal Zafar is marking his debut acting performance with Tana Bana.

This might be his debut performance but he’s already signed on with Mahira Khan’s Baarwan Khiladi – work in progress as we speak!
Danyal Zafar has belted out several musical tracks and likes to blend east with west musical tones in his work, (and quite skilfully too). He’s won hearts in the music industry and therefore, not new to the world of performances although acting will be a feather in his cap. We saw him in Coke Studio and now, audiences are eagerly anticipating his drama debut!
The Plot
Danyal has revealed that the story follows the life of a boy who is a devout follower of horoscopes. He does, however, fall in love with a girl with whom his stars disagree.
Alizeh’s character seems not ready for marriage and wants to focus on her studies instead, yet Danyal’s character appears to be a thoroughly likeable, eligible suitor who seeks to reassure her that marriage will not affect her studies.
What’s Going For Tana Bana So Far?
With multiple teasers out on YouTube, Tana Bana is calling out to the fun, rom-com loving audience who wants to sit back and catch a light-hearted watch in Ramzan. We’re hoping there will be music,(guitar spotted in Danyal Zafar’s frame) and, some college kay scenes as Alizeh’s character proceeds to focus on her education.
There is something to be said about casting and pairing a couple that ‘looks good’ onscreen. Isn’t that what a watchable rom-com is all about? Well, director Saifee Hassan seems to have done his homework here as the two love birds – Danyal & Alizeh on screen are definitely teasing audiences to go ahead and watch the first episode!
Wait a minute, is that a pre-nuptial agreement he’s signing? We’re about to find out very soon. But one thing is clear, love has many faces, and if Arsal & Jiya in Suno Chanda was one of them, these two might just make it happen too- Surprise or happy coincidence? Both Farhan & Danyal are gifted with strong vocals! Much to look forward to this Ramzan!
