Spotify and Facebook are continuing to roll out the new mini-player experience in Pakistan. The mini-player allows listeners to enjoy music from Spotify directly within Facebook on iOS and Android, without switching between apps.
Driven by social discovery, the mini-player experience will improve how users listen and share songs without leaving the Facebook app. Spotify Premium users can access full playback directly while Free users can enjoy the same great experience via shuffle mode and accompanying ads.
Beyond shares to Facebook News Feed, fans will also have the ability to play songs via the mini-player experience through verified artists’ posts, or even within user-uploaded videos on Facebook that contain licensed music.
Here’s how to launch the mini-player:
1. Tap play on the song you, your friend, family member, or favourite creator shared from Spotify to Facebook News Feed.
2. The first time you’re using the player, you’ll see a consent dialog open, click on Connect to continue.
3. If you’re logged in, the apps will automatically switch and playback will start from within the Spotify app. (If you’re not logged in, you will be prompted to do so.)
4. Spotify keeps playing even if you keep scrolling down Facebook News Feed, but you’ll have control over playback options so you can pause or dismiss the mini-player.
The new integration is now available in more than 175 markets globally.
