Noteworthy performances by the 3 child stars! Especially child star Tahreem whose silent gaze & pointed dialogues stole the show in the first half run time of episode 1.
It Was Lovely To See Mahira, Kubra & Usman Mukhtar Back On Screen
Mehreen is not a becharee & we love that. Mahira is giving us a completely new avatar in Mehreen. The obvious absence of makeup contouring, raised eyebrows, simple, girl next door image is genuinely brought together in expressions, costume and the overall styling of the character
Mashal can make you do anything with the power of her eyes… Kubra Khan is flooring us with expressions. The smugness, the privilege, the sarcasm is unmistakably blatant, as it is meant to be for Mashal.
Aswad seems to love cooking, as if girls already didn’t have enough reasons to crush on him. Usman Mukhtar aka grown-up Aswad teases us with a glimpse. So much to sort out there. Fans have been waiting to see him across Mahira and now they have it! No wonder HKKST has been trending for the past 24 hours!
Special Mention
Special mention for Omair Rana…what an impactful performance. Though his character gambles & eventually sells his wife’s jewellery, we still felt for him when he hugged his daughter.
Writer Umera Ahmed is giving us relatable content yet again. The dialogues, between the bhabi’s sisters, bhai & maan were simply what we hear in every other household, yet, we do not realise the impact they have on children.
The narrative runs deeper yet, and we feel the sinister undertones in the shaky relationship dynamics between Mashal & Mehreen – there’s much more lurking in the air between these two – but the story will unfold Umera Ahmed style, one episode (or shall we say heartbeat) at a time!
Farooq Rind is communicating with us through the frame, and what a conversation this will be. Scenes were swiftly transitioned, expressions packed a punch, and the groundwork has been laid to add just the right mix of magic, madness & mystery to the return of Mahira Khan on our TV screens! Fans can’t wait for episode 2 already.
