2021 was a rollercoaster ride (thanks to Covid-19 & all of its new variants). However, we had really great dramas that kept us thoroughly entertained and saved the day and that truly deserves an award! With that said, it’s time for the FUCHSIA Awards 2021 – our way of bidding farewell to the year with a bang!
Are you ready to see if your favourites made the cut? Let’s go ahead and meet the winners!

Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi is FUCHSIA’s Best Drama of 2021! We love everything about this remarkable play. From the casting, acting, costumes and creative direction, everything was on point. Yumna and Wahaj were outstanding in their respective roles and the dedication and performances of the entire cast shone through!
Best OST

2021 gave us some memorable melodies, but Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi had the most touching OST. It’s one of those songs that stays with you, and you can not help but sing it all the time, unprompted.
Best Actor (Male)

It’s Farhad (Feroze Khan) from Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 who won our hearts this year! Feroze delivered a spectacular performance with his transition from a fun-loving Farhad to being spiritually determined – and this range of character development has earned him a spot at the top!
Best Actor (Female)

Sonya Hussyn perfectly adapted to her role as Hoor in Saraab. She made us fall in love with her instantly thanks to her versatile acting skills. We will really miss Hoor & her profound innocence.
Best Supporting Actor (Male)

Saqib Sumeer, with his perfect portrayal of Rafique in Raqeeb Se, out-performed his desi role and kept us glued to our seats and we can’t wait to see more of him in the future!
Best Supporting Actor (Female)

Nargis (Rabia Butt) from Pehli Si Mohabbat showed us how empathy looks and plays out in the real world. Rabia nailed the character of Nargis by being the support system for Rakshi and we’re glad that we got to see more positive female roles in Pakistani dramas.

Hamza Sohail came onscreen & captured everyone’s attention by being Abdul Rehman in Raqeeb Se. It’s always refreshing to see new faces and talent in the industry and we wish him the best for the future!
Best Debut (Female)

Hadiqa Kiani was the perfect fit for Sakina in Raqeeb Se! Sakina’s intensity resonated with many as she won numerous hearts with her onscreen performance!
Best Supporting Actor Gold (Male)

Qavi Sahab is well known for his punchline delivery and varied range of expressions in acting. Bau Jee of Ishq Jalebi became one of the most loved roles of the drama because of his aura and undying love for his family.
Best Supporting Actor Gold (Female)

The sorrow Hina’s character displayed in Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 made us all wipe tears with her. Moreover, the strong Siraiki aura kept us thinking she is a real-life jagirdarni!

Muhammad Sadoon Ali gave us a very captivating performance as young Jimmy and made us emotional at times in Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi. We hope to see more of him in the future!
Best Child Actor (Female)

It’s always good to see young talent emerging. Bonita Malik, as young Allah Rakhi of Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi made us sympathize with her dreams & personality.
Best Comedy Drama

Our Ramzan is empty without a comic play! To fill in the space of Suno Chanda, Hum Tv gave us Chupke Chupke, which made us laugh out loud!
Best Comic Role (Male)

Noor ul Hassan is a legendary actor undoubtedly, but his performance in Ishq Jalebi was unmatchable! Aashiq Hussain Advocate made us laugh at every punchline and his aura will remain with us forever!
Best Comic Role (Female)

Asma Abbas being the hilarious dadi of the year, gave us unforgettable moments in the drama Chupke Chupke. Babbe really knew how to get her way in the world of social media!

Saleem Mairaj has mastered the art of negative roles. In 2021 he gave us a mind-blowing performance with his role as Sikandar in Pehli Si Mohabbat!
Best Negative Role (Female)

Sana Javed is a powerhouse of expressions! The audience truly disliked Amal in Dunk, which really shows how much her acting convinced the audience of her wickedness.
Best Writer

Bee Gul and her intense and engaging scripts always leave us wanting more and more! She did a spectacular job writing the characters of Raqeeb Se and their sincere chemistry with each other.
Best Director

Ahmed Bhatti did a great job directing Ghisi Pitti Mohabbat! Looking forward to more spectacular dramas by him in 2022!
Special Mention For Characters That Stayed With Us!

Navid Shahzad deserves a special mention for her negative role as Suraiya Anjum in the drama Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi!
Best Out Of The Box Dramas

Laapata
Laapata resonated with the youth on so many levels and became one of the most-watched dramas in 2021! The ever-charming Ayezah Khan, with her bubbly demeanour & Sarah Khan paired up with Ali Rehman, was a treat for our eyes.
Ghisi Piti Mohabbat
Samia ultimately became the voice of women and showed how one could evolve to become the hero of their own story. With so many life lessons, Ramsha Khan as Samia in Ghisi Pitti Mohabbat taught us not to give up, and to face the cruel reality of this world with resilience.
Raqeeb Se
Raqeeb Se was not just a super hit drama because of its super hit cast, but it gained popularity because of its storyline. The empathy portrayed by the characters really made the audience believe in the power of humanity.
With this, we at FUCHSIA wrap up 2021 and step into 2022. We wish a happy, healthy, and prosperous year to all!
Please Note: Dramas that screened their last episode in 2021 have been considered for nomination in FUCHSIA Awards this year.
