The political tensions in Ukraine after Russia’s military attack are worsening by the minute. Many people are trying to flee while others who have stayed back are either getting injured or killed. Russia initiated an air attack on the Ukrainian military as well as ordered troops to enter the country via three sides of the border.

Celebrities all over the world are condemning Russia’s military attack in Ukraine and sending their thoughts and prayers to the Ukrainian people.
Celebrities Send Their Prayers To The Ukrainian People
Ushna Shah took to Twitter to express her distress for the Ukrainian people.
“Heartbroken to heart about Ukraine, praying for everyone’s safety. ❤️”
Indian lyricist, poet, and scriptwriter, Javed Akhtar condemned the Russia-Ukraine conflict and urged the Western powers to speak up on other ongoing armed conflicts as well.
“If the Russian / Ukrainian conflict evokes a sense of fairness n justice , a humane desire to protect the weaker in them , Why all of the western powers are totally indiffrent towards Saudi carpet bombings and atrocities on a small country like Yemen”
Malala Yousafzai, Nobel Laureate and a leading advocate for girls’ education, reminded Russia of the undesirable consequences of wars historically and called upon Russia to put an end to their military attack.
She wrote, “History tells us that wars cause irreversible and unimaginable loss. Civilians are killed; homes, schools and places of worship destroyed. People need peace, stability and dignity more than anything else. Russia must stop the attack on Ukraine immediately.”
Bollywood actress and a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram to show solidarity and speak up for the Ukrainian people. Sharing a post from Now This News, which shows terrified people in Ukraine moving to underground bunkers in a war zone, she questioned how “in the modern world this could escalate to such a catastrophic point.”
“Innocent people living in fear for their lives and the lives of their loved ones, while trying to navigate the uncertainty of the immediate future,” she added.
Actor John Cena also voiced his concern over the situation.
“If I could somehow summon the powers of a real life #Peacemaker I think this would be a great time to do so.”
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, a special envoy for UNHCR also stated the importance of safety for those in the middle of a war zone. She is working with UNCHR to ensure they get protection and basic human rights.
” It is too soon to know what will happen, but the significance of this moment – for the people of Ukraine, and for the international rule of law – cannot be overstated.”
The Russia-Ukraine conflict started in 2014 and was exacerbated recently when Putin ordered a military attack on Kyiv. Though things are uncertain as of now, news reports and people are hinting at a possible “World War 3.” Our thoughts and prayers are with the civilians living in a war zone and fearing for their lives.
