The 94th Academy Awards were held last night. Hollywood stars gathered on the red carpet for what’s probably one of the most anticipated nights for the industry; Oscars.
Oscars 2022 will stand out for a few firsts; CODA becomes the first film from a streaming platform to win Best picture. Ariana DeBose is the first openly Queer woman to get an Oscar. The Award ceremony also initiated a conversation on how far is too far when it comes to stand-up comedy. Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on live TV as the former made a joke on his wife’s shaved head (due to Alopecia). Will later went on to apologize to the Academy. Of course, the Oscars will be remembered for the winners but this is what is being talked about on top of all the wins.
