An episode that not only disappointed the viewers but also ignored the sensitivities of many by way of callous dialogues. Why oh why make insensitive comments about Mehru’s physical appearance? Catch up on the second last episode of Dobara as we anticipate the finale tomorrow night.

We had hoped against hope that Mahir will not cheat on Mehru but alas, we were proven wrong. He’s not only cheating on her, but has proven to be the biggest douchebag because of his mean comments about her.
Distasteful Remarks On Mehru’s Appearance
Regardless of whatever transpires in the final episode, the insensitivity of the comments made by Mahir’s mother and Mahir himself cannot be overlooked. It makes us question the creators & everyone involved: Why the need to utter those insensitive comments about wrinkles? If Mahir wants to marry Nermeen, he can go ahead and do so, why insert cringy statements on her physical appearance? No matter what Mahir does now, nothing can redeem him. Nothing can justify the pain it has caused among many who might be going through a similar situation.
It confounds us that no one, literally no one in that entire team seemed to have an issue with the dialogues Mahir and his mother uttered. A certain responsibility falls on everyone to make sure the sensitivities of an issue and the feelings of real people who might be facing a similar situation must be respected and maintained, which Dobara miserably failed to do so in its second last episode.
Viewers Are Heartbroken
We as viewers feel betrayed after spending so many weeks watching this drama, which seemed to have given us hope and was supposed to change mindsets. But now it seems to be going on a path of self-destruction.
If this was not enough, we had to witness Nermeen scheming with her mom to lure Mahir into marrying her – another big disappointment. Did Mahir’s character deserve this?
Why is Mehru’s character shown to be so lame, and it is also assumed that she’ll be desperate enough to forgive Mahir if he marries Nermeen?
Will The Makers Be Able To Salvage Dobara?
Can we forgive Mahir after what he just did to Mehru & said about her, (even if he has a revenge plan against Nermeen). Can any theory, any logic convince us to let him stay in Mehru’s life? He seems to have forgotten all that Mehru has done for him? He was the one who warned Zameer and now, to make his character do the same is not only ridiculous but also, unnecessary.
The drama has sadly, placed doubts in the survival of such relationships and we wonder how the creators will turn this around.
We wish, oh how we wish the drama had focused on the relationship of Mahir and Mehru, keeping realistic issues at the core of the storytelling and not digressing toward extramarital affairs and false allegations.
