An interesting and fast-paced first episode kept us hooked and laid the grounds for the coming episodes. The drama also pleasantly surprised us by featuring some new faces. Scroll down to read FUCHSIA’s review of Bakhtawar.

About The Story
Bakhtawar is a strong, determined, and extremely independent girl who refuses to give in to any stereotypical expectations, emotional blackmail, and negative halaat.
She is hopeful despite her many challenges and also gives hope.
We Spotted A New Face
Aahad played by newcomer Ali Wasi Kazmi is again, a positive and uplifting character. Ali delivers a notable performance in the very first episode. With some more work on his expressions & demeanour, we are sure Ali will be another talented addition to the drama industry.
It was scary and suffocating to see the panchayat deciding the fate of Bakhtawar as well as her marriage against her will. We are glad Aahad facilitated the escape plans of Bakhtawar and her mother.
Is Bakhtawar More Than What Meets The Eye? We Sure Hope So!
While we found the first episode interesting, we also question if we still want to watch the same old tales of survival and struggle on the streets and in dark alleys … the age-old story of characters moving to big cities from far-flung areas and getting entrapped in a web of evil and opportunists.
The direction could have been taken a notch higher. When Mami enters the scene, Bakhtawar stops dancing abruptly and the music also stops immediately, as if on demand … we were blown away by this breakthrough technology that caused the music player to pause precisely at the moment Bakhtawar stopped dancing.
We hope and wish we witness Bakhtawar’s journey through college education and then maybe, a career to establish herself in life – a story that will provide hope and not just highlight the strength in compromised situations.
