According to reports, Amir Khan & Kareena Kapoor starrer Laal Singh Chadda is expected to release in Pakistan this month. The movie is licensed under Paramount Pictures and the Cinepax Media Group, responsible for distributing the film in Pakistan, has stated that a request for a NOC has been submitted to the Information Ministry, however, nothing is official yet. However, the Information Ministry states Bollywood movies will not be released in Pakistan as their policy has not changed, an official from the ministry told The Express Tribune.
The news of the film started gaining traction when Ali Zain, founder of Box Office Detail posted a video on Twitter, confirming that the NOC for Laal Singh Chadda’s release in Pakistan has been submitted. This garnered a multitude of reactions, both positive and negative. Some are of the view that Indian films should stay banned while others believe the release could prove beneficial for Pakistan’s cinemas as they haven’t fully recovered since the COVID-19 pandemic. About The Film
Laal Singh Chadda is an official adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film, Forest Gump. It took Amir Khan 14 years to make the film. The actor spent the first few years trying to get the rights to the film and the rest to finalise the script, cast, and shoot the film. The film was finally released yesterday, on 11th August 2022.
Apart from Amir Khan, Laal Singh Chadda features Kareena Kapoor as the female lead. The ensemble cast also includes Mona Singh and Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance, among others. The screenplay of the film is written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni while the movie has been directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar.
