Take a bow Saira Raza (writer), Qasim Ali Mureed (Director), Farhan Saeed, Hania Aamir and the entire cast, Six Sigma Productions and the crew for giving us two endearing episodes of MH.
The drama wins our heart by showing the growth in Hala’s journey where she finally realises SHE has to take care of herself, instead of counting on other people – A critical lesson for all girls out there.
Hamza Won Us Over… Again!
Hamza jee aap to humara dil qaboo mein hi nahin rehany dey rehay, sixer per sixer… Hamza gives her space without showing bitterness or anger. That slipper scene and then the dialogue, “raasty mein hoon 15 mins mein pohanch reha hoon, khana ley ker”… made us Hamza’s fans for life now.
Some Much Needed Positivity For Hala
Hala’s decision to go with her father represents so many emotions and deep desires of Hala. To be owned and supported by her father, to be at a place where there is no toxicity, to be able to ask for help with haq and maan… things we take for granted in our lives but which are so, so important for the mental wellbeing of a human being.
Lovely to see a positive sister character which is just what Hala needed in her life.
The drama depicts Hala’s journey with a subtlety, sensitivity & sensibility, keeping audiences invested by showing a believable shift in Hala, not a Hala who has totally changed over to become a new person. She is still missing Hamza, thinking about him and wondering if she was at all important in his life. The writer has retained the basic essence of Hala for us, while showing progression in her character.
The Sameen We Loved Is Back!
Not just Hala, the drama also shows the journey of Sameen where she is finally realising her own worth and recollecting the dreams that were side-lined or dismissed because of her family’s marriage goals and Hamza – again, a situation many girls face. But can she blame Khurram completely for Hala’s situation? Doesn’t he deserve a 2nd chance?
Question Of The Day
Do you also want Roomi to go ahead and marry Waqas just to teach Shah Jahan a lesson? We say yes! A note of appreciation for expressing Roomi’s turmoil, and aptly portraying reasons for her behaviour. From the thappar, to hiding the phone, to putting on a pretence before her mom, Roomi’s story is keeping us engaged.
The narrative has been spot on with representation in that each of the girls; Hala, Sameen and Roomi, represent a very relevant and credible issue faced by young girls in today’s society.
