Here’s news on the Shahid Afridi Foundation Telethon that’s about to happen and how you can participate in the Flood Relief effort.
When Shahid Afridi, Jahangir Khan, Dennis Freedman, Shaniera Akram and Adnan Siddiqui come together, you can bet there’s magic in the air!
The floods in Pakistan have impacted countless lives and livelihoods. According to Reuters, 1,500 people have died out of which 530 are children. The floods have impacted 33 million people out of a population of 220 million, sweeping away homes, vehicles, crops and livestock in damage estimated at $30 billion. Many Pakistanis are now left homeless and prone to water-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria. The damage is monumental, and the road ahead is not a smooth one. Hence it is uplifting to see that influencers across the globe are taking on fund raising initiatives for Pakistan.
Of course, Pakistani celebs will take the lead and it is heartening to see that well loved faces in pakistan from Hadiqa Kiani to Shahid Afridi and everyone in between is driving efforts to overcome a disaster that will need us in for the long haul.
Tune In On Saturday 11 am!
