While star-crossed lovers may be an interesting watch, we do think that the audience needs to be exposed to the topics that society needs but refrain to talk about. The Pakistani drama industry is touching storylines these days which come as a breath of fresh air amidst the everyday “saas-bahu kay jhagray”. Tinkay Ka Sahara, Meri Shehzadi and Pinjra are on top of our radar. Read more about these dramas below.

Tinkay Ka Sahara
Penned by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, starring Sonya Hussain, Rabab Hashim, Haroon Shahid, Sami Khan, Saba Faisal, Ayesha Toor, Adnan Jaffer, Sana Askari, and Naveed Raza. It is directed by Zeeshan Ahmed and produced by Moomal Entertainment and MD Productions.
The story’s central idea revolves around the perspective that money is the answer to everything in life. The drama seems to portray the narrative that no amount of wealth will match the beauty of loyalty.
With the first episode out, we have seen that Rabab Hashim’s character craves a luxurious life which leads her to marry a rich guy (Sami Khan) in spite of all the red flags. On the other hand, we see Sonya Hussain who dreams of escaping her sister’s in-law house and getting married to a guy (Haroon Shahid) who is not well off.
Sami Khan’s role is that of a violent character with anger control issues. On the other hand, Haroon Shahid is portraying the role of a laid-back character and his antics are sure to put a smile on the viewer’s face. Sonya Hussain exudes charm throughout the entire episode that makes it difficult to take our eyes off the screen.

Pinjra touches upon the subject of adversity while parenting. It will follow a family of 5 navigating the bumpy path of life. The trailer shows how a happy family soon gets marred by ill-fate. The serial is perhaps going to appeal to a larger audience as this plot seems a step closer to reality.
Shazia Wajahat shared that, “Itโs basically a social topic for which Asma did a lot of research while writing. It is about how we bring up a kid, and where we go wrong in the process of parenting. To understand your children. Every child is different, unintentionally we end up putting a lot of social pressure on the children. We donโt realize what harm we are bringing to them with the comparisons in schools and at home.โ
