Meri Shehzadi is a story of a political family and their ruthlessness in a quest to achieve political gains. Politics and family status takes precedence over everything else.

The Plot & What We Enjoyed Watching
The plot, set against power politics, makes the drama refreshing, different and interesting to watch. The characters and their reactions are not what you would expect from typical characters we are used to watching. Despite being the second wife, Dania is still staying on, Cam, despite having the advantage of the first wife (a secret that can destroy Shehroz and his family), chooses not to go public. Shehroz is not just cold-hearted towards Dania, he is ruthless with Cam as well. Last but not the least, Shahana deep down, craves power for her own selfish ends.
Shehroz is not your typical husband with two wives, where one is favoured over there other. His priority is his father’s political legacy and his family’s position in the country. This makes the narrative so much more gripping.
It is interesting to see how Shehrezade employs different tactics with each of the wives. As a viewer we also cannot decide if we feel sympathy for Cam or Dania. We want to feel for Dania but then Cam’s helplessness makes us feel for her as well.
Is it only a deep desire to be loved that is making Dania stay and put up with her husband’s first marriage or is it her inner need to be accepted as part of the family and her father’s life from which she was excluded whilst growing up.
Thank God for the Nani… one person whom Dania can turn to if things really go out of control.
Dania was looking for comfort from her father but he couldn’t give her that. Instead he attempted to tempt her with material things that don’t hold much value for her. A few words like, “hang in there, you can do it, I am here with you” would have made a world of a difference, but sadly Dania, (and we), do not get that comfort from him.
