Daniya, the khaandani bahu vs the non-muslim wife. Love and revenge are both capable of driving women to do things they never thought they would ever do. Scroll down to read FUCHSIA’s review of Meri Shehzadi.

Is Daniya really living up to her role of a khaandani bahu or is she using this opportunity to win over Shehroz? By supporting him and denying his first marriage, is she making sure Cam exits his life forever? Looks like love is making a gentle person like Daniya become ruthless and deny Cam her legal and rightful position in Shehroze’s life. Cam on the other hand is driven by anger, betrayal and revenge… she probably made the wrong move by going public and just lost Shehroz’s vote.
It is interesting how the drama shows that a man would commit a wrong, hurt the women in his relationships in the name of love, duty and family. And then, to top it all, expect women to be okay with it and sacrifice more in terms of love, feelings and duty. Men feel entitled to be understood more, accepted and forgiven.
Shehroze’s character is intriguing. He is ruthless to the extent of asking all of the above from Daniya but expresses it in such a manner that Daniya melts and gives in.
He promises her that he will always be there if she needs him. He will always value the “dukh of batwara” she has borne for his sake… “and you would show the world how happy you are with me…”. The way he says it is both calming & hypnotic, making Daniya continue in the false hope of maybe one day, winning his love.
While Shehroz has denied the marriage with Cam, is it really a wise move? Cam can’t be so naive… what about pictures, documentation of their marriage, the birth certificate of their son? All these must have Shehroze’s name on them. How will he deny it all all?
Daniya however is rising to the occasion and standing up to her stepmother, thanks to the last few words of advice from Nani, which is such a relief!
