1. Hania Aamir as Sharjeena in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Sharjeena as she makes Mustafa talk to her at night, telling him he shouldn’t tell her to ever leave, bringing the calm into their life – Hania Aamir has slipped into character effortlessly and we’re loving the calm after every storm in their lives, thanks to her!
2. Fahad Mustafa as Mustafa in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Fahad Mustafa portrays Mustafa’s passion for coding in a deeply engaging manner. His anger at Adeel, disappointment at his family and then, a deep desire to overcome his insecurities by accumulating wealth and building a better life to earn respect for himself and Sharjeena was conveyed fabulously.
3. Emmad Irfani as Adeel in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Adeel and Mustafa’s face-off was a bitter bill for Adeel to swallow. His subsequent anger, lying to his mother, meeting Natasha on the quiet and passive-aggressive stance towards life is making us fully invested in Adeel’s story
4. Mohib Mirza as Hassan in Jafaa
Mohib has managed to deliver a character with nuances we haven’t yet seen in action before. Hassan is the man with unresolved childhood trauma, a seemingly rational adult who tries hard to keep his anger management issues in control. The hotel scene where he lost his cool at the young boys making a TikTok was so well enacted. Mohib is adding multiple dimensions to Hassan’s character and revealing it in all its complexities.
5. Mawra Hocane as Zara in Jafaa
Our heart goes out to Zara as she represents so many young women who do everything possible to save their marriage, not realizing that sometimes, everything can’t be fixed, or they need to think about themselves first? Mawra Hocane conveys Zara’s dilemmas aptly as she tries hard to balance her mother’s fears, quell her own suspicions and be the best partner possible to Hassan.
6. Kinza Hashmi as Wafa in Hum Dono
Kinza portrays Wafa’s determined support for Asad after marriage. She represents a young girl walking a fine line between being a loving partner, yet not a doormat for her mother in-law. The way she makes Asad walk is precious and minimal makeup in the scenes at home helps make it more believable.
7. Zaviyar Naumaan Ijaz as Shehroze in Hum Dono
Zaviyar continues to portray sinister shades as he makes us wonder how Shehroze will react in his bitterness and rage, how well he can keep it under cover yet reveal parts of his inner resentment at times when we least expect it. His conversation with Ejaz Durrani made us sit up and take note. Well, played Zaviyaar.
8. Adeel Hussain as Farjaad in Ghair
Adeel as Farjaad in Ghair conveys the young, hot-headed hero who means well, but often loses his cool. His interest in Wafa is guarded yet apparent and it is cute to see the serious, proper Farjaad feeling a bit lost, apologizing, and admitting his mistake to Wafa.
9. Savera Nadeem as Reham in Bismil
Savera Nadeem represents Reham’s character in a very believable manner. Her conversations with Tauqeer are so relatable, revealing the genuine confusion and not suspicion or mistrust (yet) that a wife would experience under similar circumstances. She has managed to convey Reham’s confusion and also shift from anger, despair to hope yet again in a finely nuanced performance
10. Hamza Sohail as Dr. Nofil in Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Hamza Sohail as Dr. Nofil made us smile with his motorbike antics. The scene had few dialogues and loads of expression. A very well performed stint that had audiences falling in love with the purity and innocence of Meenu and Dr. Nofil’s love story.
11. Sajal Aly as Meenu in Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Sajal Aly as Meenu sitting under a tree, trying to write Dr. Nofil a letter, reading his words and smiling to herself were just the moments we were waiting for. Meenu gave us a glimpse into the heart of a young girl who finally has confirmation that her feelings are not one-sided. Well played Sajal Aly!
12. Ali Tahir as Chacha Afzal in Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Ali Tahir has nailed Chacha Afzal to the tee. His conversations with Dr. Nofil always make us smile or tear up. This time, his reluctance to go to Nasreen’s home in his signature style, was fun to watch. Ali Tahir has developed a special character with whom we have now become deeply familiar – his antics, humor, emotions, disappointment and anger all carry great intensity, and we feel for him, every time he comes onscreen!
13. Mirza Gohar Rasheed as Shabbir in Mann Jogi
Mirza Gohar Rasheed as Shabbir nailed the dark villain who carries a host of vulnerabilities. When he discovered the mob had wised-up to his ploy, his sudden shift from confidence and rage to insecurity and confusion was conveyed in an instant. Well, played Gohar Rasheed, we might not have been on Shabbir’s side, but we understood his trauma came from a darker place!
