All of our 3 favorites desserts in one? Yes please! Was Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Oreo Tiramisu Cheesecake as delicious as we imagined? Read on to find out!

3 Desserts In 1: Our Verdict On Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Oreo Tiramisu Cheesecake! As Irresistible As We Imagined?

In Pakistan, the presence of international coffee chains has become widely evident, including Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Karachi making their entry. Although their coffee is widely appreciated, our craving for a sweet little something, led us to explore their intriguing dessert options online.

When we spotted the Oreo Tiramisu Cheesecake, we were practically drooling and swooning, imagining the blissful sugar rush it promised! The idea of combining three of our favorite desserts into one with the Oreo Tiramisu Cheesecake sounded like a dream for any dessert lover. We were ready to be in dessert heaven! Jbtw, we ordered online from Foodpanda so it costed us Rs. 1123 exact!

The 3 In 1 Unique Combination

The subtly sweet and distinct flavor of Oreos, the coffee-infused sublime taste of Tiramisu, and the airy, delicious cheesecake—such a unique trio! We were so intrigued to discover what the amalgamation of these three elements would taste like. Would it transport us to dessert heaven, or would it be an unexpectedly odd combination?

The Taste Test

At the initial bite, it’s a burst of Oreos, followed by the light, fluffy creaminess of the oreo cream cheesecake, complemented by a thin layer of coffee-infused tiramisu, and finally, a chocolatey layer of cake as the base. Honestly, it struck a perfect balance of sweetness.

The first layer? Who could possibly dislike Oreos? Fantastic! The cheesecake layer? Cloudier and creamier than we could have imagined, but not your typical cheesecake. This one is an Oreo cream version, an absolutely melt-in-your-mouth sweet dream. The tiramisu layer? Faint, underwhelming, and difficult to detect. The chocolate, fudgy layer at the end? A chocolate lover’s dream.

Dessert Dream Or An Odd Mix?

All together? It’s a confusing, slightly odd blend of flavors! When the first bite hit, most of the flavors, excluding the tiramisu, hit simultaneously, and it wasn’t quite what we had imagined. Nevertheless, each of the layer on its own was enjoyable. It’s not an extremely bad dessert, just a rather puzzling one! Is it Oreo, where is the Tiramisu? Why does the cheesecake not taste like cheesecake? These were some of the thoughts just running through our mind.

For some of us, the creamy texture of the cheesecake and the chocolatey richness of the bottom layer were impressive! However, for others, the taste wise, bland cheesecake and pinpointing any distinct flavors was a bit challenging. Honestly, considering its exorbitant price, one would expect more! This brings us to the issue of serving size!

Our Verdict

Priced at Rs. 900 (adding VAT, delivery fee etc. brought it up to Rs. 1123), one would naturally assume and rightly so, a generously sized cake slice. However, imagine our disbelief when the slice turned out to be no larger than the palm of our hand. Disappointingly, it didn’t live up to its irresistible description even though the creaminess of the cheesecake was a possible distracting delight.

Would we have the Oreo Tiramisu Cheesecake from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf again? Nope! There are far superior options in Karachi. Despite the sinfully creamy nature of this 3-in-1 dessert, the combination of price, serving size, and the lack of distinct flavors was sufficient to bring us back to our senses.

If you are tempted to try it yourself, order yours from here or on Foodpanda! Well, you can even try it out from their branch in Bukhari Commercial, DHA.
