Assuming that you’re expecting to combine sightseeing with a radiant ocean-side escape, go to Dubrovnik, where you can spend mornings meandering the renowned stone walls and evenings picking your number one ocean side out of the many calm stretches of shingle and sand that make up the riviera. If you feel like being close to nature visit the hidden cave of Betina špilja, just be mindful that there are no amenities only the beach you, and the sun!

While you’re touring Dubrovnik, make sure to try Croatia’s signature sea kayaking to Lokrum Island to visit the botanical garden built by Napoleon. The most unmissable experience is a circuit around the city walls which reveals stunning views of the old town and rooftops out of the sea. Soak in the morning sun at the 17th Century Baroque stone building at the Stardun while having a cup of your morning coffee. After you get bored of all the sightseeing tantalize your tastebuds with a Michelin star meal at the 360 (beg for the gun chambers). P.S. if you are a Game of Thrones fan make sure you go on the GOT tour!

Take a boat tour of the volcano and swim in the Aegean sea to explore the city of Thirassia. Fira, the capital of Santorini packs a hefty punch when it comes to breathing views, picturesque churches and cobbled streets that are just too good to miss.

When it’s time to fill that rumbling stomach, try the famous lamb or chicken gyros (rotisserie grilled meats served wrapped in a flatbread such as a pita, with tomato, onion, a few chips and tzatziki sauce). Keep your eyes peeled for a local bakery, these will keep you well-fed for minimum cost. Order some grilled meat, fresh seafood or calamari with chips and salad.
