Who said a candlelight dinner isn’t for home? Make this Valentine’s day more special with these recipes; breakfast, dinner and dessert! Yummy!
Make them yourself and surprise your partner, or make them together and add a little spark to your ‘us time’. So without any further ado, here are the recipes that we promise will brighten your day!
Fluffy Pancakes
Start off the day right! Surprise your partner with breakfast in bed with these soft, indulgent pancakes. Here’s what you need.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all -purpose flour, sifted
- 2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 Large Egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- Any cooking oil

Method:
Combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder into a bowl and mix well. In another bowl, mix together the egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the dry ingredients and stir well. The batter should be thick and a little lumpy (if it’s too thick, add a bit more milk).
Place the frying pan over medium heat, add a few drops of oil. With the help of a 1/4 measuring cup or a large serving spoon to pour the batter into the pan. When golden from the bottom, flip it & let it cook for 5 more minutes and viola, serve.
Serve it with maple syrup and add in a few strawberries and bananas too! Enjoy!
Pro tip: Fry one pancake to get it right, if you need it fluffier, add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp baking soda to the batter. Be careful with the soda, you don’t want too much lest you get an after taste!

Spaghetti for two please
This can be for lunch or dinner. Have your partner join you in prepping this scrumptious spaghetti, we promise you’ll have fun!
Ingredients:
- 12 oz (170 gram) spaghetti
- 2 boneless chicken breasts, (diced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- Soy and chilli sauce according to taste
- 1 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese

Method:
In a pot, add water and salt and bring to boil. Add the spaghetti, and let them cook until al dente. Meanwhile, cut the chicken breasts into small pieces and cook on a medium flame till golden. When the pasta is done, strain them (save some pasta water) and let them cool.
In the same pot, add a bit of oil and minced garlic, saute & add chicken (salt to taste). Let them simmer for a minute till chicken is tender & done, then and add in the spaghetti.
Mix them and add in the saved pasta water. Then let the water dry. You will get a thick textured sauce. Plate them and sprinkle with oregano and parmesan.

Surprise Chocolate Strawberries
This one is simple and sweet. What you need:
Ingredients:
- 16 oz or 450 grams chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp butter
- 15 to 20 strawberries

Method:
Place water to heat in a pan and over it, place a heat resistant glass bowl and with the butter and choco chips. Stir them until the chips are melted and rich in texture. Using toothpicks, dip the strawberries in the melted chocolate and set them in a stray.
For the topping:
Crushed almonds or sprinkles can both seal the deal. Oh and if you want, decorate or dip the strawberries in white chocolate in the same way!

Enjoy them with a romcom on the couch and finish the day on a sweet note.
