If there’s one thing Pakistanis adore more than food, it’s Jemima Goldsmith. From being the nation’s favourite ‘bhabhi’ to literally being an (un)official goodwill ambassador for Pakistan, from collecting funds for flood relief to singing ‘Aao Bachoun Sair Karayein Tumko Pakistan Ki’, she has left no stone unturned to prove her love and admiration for this country. Scroll down to know 4 times she made us fall for her all over again!

1. What’s Love Got To Do With It?
Producing a movie that honors Pakistani culture and shows the positive side of Pakistan is a huge deal in itself, especially considering how easily Pakistan and its people have been labeled all things ugly in mainstream media. She even went on to state that there are ‘No terrorists in our film about Pakistanis. So tired of that narrative,” rebutting the age-old (and overused) narrative in western films about Pakistan and/or Muslims. For What’s Love Got To Do With It? Jemima states she has taken inspiration from her time in Pakistan. Like music to our ears, isn’t that right?
What’s Love Got To Do With It (Starring our very own Sajal Aly) revolves around Zoe, who, after many failed attempts at love, decides to accompany her childhood best friend and neighbor to Pakistan for his (arranged) wedding with a Pakistani girl, played by Sajal Aly, The trailer throws in a mix of comedy, romance and a whole lot of desi shaadi feels, including a glimpse of the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Sajal Aly, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Asim Chaudhry, Mim Shaikh, Jeff Mirza, Iman Boujelouah, Mariam Haque, Rob Brydonand, and Sindhu Vee. It is written and co-produced by Jemima Khan and directed by Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and all set to hit UK cinemas on 27th January, 2023.
2. Collecting Funds For Flood Relief In Pakistan
In an attempt to aid flood victims in Pakistan, Jemima had auctioned a private screening for 20 people for What’s Love Got To Do With It? last month. This kind gesture was lauded by Pakistanis and their love for her increased tenfold. She has also recently announced that each of her film’s screenings will benefit the flood-affectees in Pakistan.
Besides this, she has been quite vocal about the devastating floods Pakistan is currently engulfed with and she is using her social media presence to urge people to donate as much as they can.
3. Singing Our Childhood Fav Urdu Song & Winning Our Hearts!
Recently, Jemima sat down for an interview with BBC news and the host asked her to sing in Urdu! Jemina decided to take us back to our good old childhood days and chose to sing ‘Aao Bachoun Sair Kair Karayein Tumko Pakistan Ki’ and Pakistanis cannot stop gushing! So much so that she is topping Twitter trends in Pakistan ever since that video came out and you guessed it, we fell for her all over again!
4. Her Love For Pakistani Truck Art
Earlier this year, truck artist Haider Ali’s latest work on a pair of sneakers took Jemima back to the time she first came to Pakistan around 27 years ago and found herself amused by all the truck art around her.
Citing Haider Ali’s work, she said she is still ‘obsessed’ with truck art. Taking to Twitter, she wrote, “When I first visited Pakistan 27 years ago, I thought there must be a carnival happening — every truck, bus, rickshaw, and motorbike uniquely and lovingly decorated. I need these trainers as a memento.”
We think she can totally rock Pakistani truck art-inspired sneakers. What say you?
Keep sending the love Jemima, we will always be here with open arms to receive every ounce of it!
