Dr. Farheen finally standing up to Dr. Shahnawaz was all we needed to see and it was so cathartic. Not just the fact that she had snapped out of her state of denial, but also that she put her words into action, escorted Samiya to Dr. Rubina’s hospital to ensure she signs up for the interview and then backed up her actions by owning her decision before Shahnwaz and supporting Saniya through the move. Well done Dr. Farheen – Shahnwaz finally meets his match and surprise, surpise, it’s a woman – in fact, your own wife!
4. Bas Tera Saath Ho

When Anas proposed to Ansa in the mosque, it was a soulful moment. His dialogues, sincere and respectful, coupled with the quiet recitation of aptly chosen quranic verses in the background, minus a jarring background score just nailed the entire scene. Shout out to the performances and direction in this one.

Salman being Salman (representing all the husbands of the world) when he dismisses Saniya’s apprehensions yet again
Salman trivialized Saniya’s apprehensions yet again, wondering why she wasn’t the daring, passionate person he knew at the beginning of their marriage, or just before. Her repeated mention of the emotional pressure she faces in his house, his father, the demands of a medical profession and the fear of becoming pregnant along with their present state of affairs was again downplayed by Salman so much so that Saniya now just gave in to the repeated conversations playing on loop between them in which Salman promises to be more present and supportive of her, and she, now used to the sudden flip in his attitude, has just come to terms with her situation – we see a defeated Saniya or perhaps one who will come back stronger later in the story?
2. Zanjeerain

The drama scene that made it to nember 2 this week is Zanjeerain. The scene where Shirin holds up the necklace, silently gushing over it at same time, contemplating the world through her expressions and body language – the giveaway we were waiting for! Shirin certainly has a secret to hide and it’s not just a desire for the necklace, there’s so much more in the reveal. Just this one scene has set the stage for what’s to come next and we fear Noor is about to discover a horrible truth about her husband and Shirin – the scene packed in quite a punch – subtle, suggestive and so impactful!

Sar Buland revisiting the site of the blast to find his elder brother Sher Dil’s remains
One scene that resonated with audiences and us had to be number 1 on our watch this week. Sar Buland recalling the moment he visited the accident site and came upon his elder brother Sher Dil’s remains. Danyal Zafar delivered a powerful performance there, the pain we hadn’t witnessed earlier, disguised in a troubled yet calm demeanour – Sar Buland’s plight and emotional trauma found a voice here. Great re-enactment and a shout out to the team for a flashback that left an impact.
