With Pakistani designers going international and celebrities turning heads as they don threads designed and customized for them from Pakistan, Pakistanis have a new feather in our cap as Georgina Rodriguez – Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend takes on Pakistani designer Faraz Mannan in her latest photoshoot with Harper’s Bazaar! And we have to admit, she looked stunning!

Our fashion industry is known for its exquisite designs, vibrant colors, and a style like no other. Of course, people all over go gaga over them. Orders are placed overseas and mass textile is exported to customers. And just like that, they caught the attention of some of our favorite stars and made it to international red carpet events too. Here are 7 designers who made it international:
1. Kumail Nanjiani In Umar Sayeed

Kumail Nanjiani, who stars as Kingo in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’, picked out a one-of-a-kind Umar Sayeed sherwani for the film’s world premiere. He wished to pay homage to his ancestral/Pakistani roots, how utterly awesome right? Also, the purple was an attempt to pay tribute and represent his character Kingo, in the newly released film! How cool is that?
2. Hasan Minhaj In Nomi Ansari

Hasan Minhaj, one of our favorites, picked out this exclusive sherwani from ace Pakistani designer, Nomi Ansari, for his sister’s wedding. And of course, netizens, especially from Pakistan lost their cool and just couldn’t get enough of this fresh look!
3. Mahirah Khan In Elan

The gorgeous diva, Mahira Khan, the current star of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay and Aik Hai Nigar, wore this stunning Elan outfit on the first day at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The white paired with the floral printed dupatta took the look to a whole new level! Those stunning earrings you see are from Pakistani jewelry designer, Zohrah Rahman, and perfectly pulled the whole look in place!
Mahira surely served looks at Cannes that year!
4. Riz Ahmed In RASTAH

Riz Ahmed, the star of Sound of Metal and the Oscar nominee, opted for a handwoven, seemingly cool and breezy shirt, for Esquire Magazine. And in an interview, he wore a printed jacket from Rastah too! Going with the drip!
5. Ranveer Singh In Mohsin Naveed Ranjha

Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, known for his exquisite designs, luxury and bridal looks, got a chance to style the Bollywood star, the talented and full of life, Ranveer Singh, that too in London! These looks were exclusively for the Filmfare Magazine cover. Hard work pays off, and the designs are truly to die for too! We mean just look at the details!
“It just completely stalled. Then I realized that Ranveer had posted a picture of the cover and tagged me on it. My brand’s Instagram followers were multiplying by the minute! Filmfare tagged me on their Instagram profile as well and my phone just hasn’t stopped buzzing.”

6. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy In Sana Safinaz

Winner for ‘Saving Face’ in 2012, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy wore this blingy Sana Safinaz gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. During the main event, she opted for local designers too! Representing Pakistani talent and fashion. How amazing!
7.Georgina Rodriguez In Faraz Manan
Georgina Rodriguez turned heads with her exquisite attire curated by the renowned Pakistani designer, Faraz Manan. Known for dressing top celebrities from Pakistan and India, Faraz had the privilege of creating unique looks for one of the world’s most prominent women. Georgina mesmerized in two enchanting floor-length gowns for the occasion. Her first ensemble showcased a captivating black sequin dress, accentuated by a fur neck and a flowing mesh cape adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystals. The second look featured a glamorous champagne-toned bejeweled top and pencil skirt, complemented by a statement power shoulder cape, also embellished with Swarovski crystals.

Which one of these is your favorite? If you had a chance to represent a Pakistani designer, who would it be?
