Actors who gave commendable performances this week – It’s a run to the finish line as stars belt out formidable performance and we have a hard task picking the ones that really stand apart from the rest. This is not to say we downplay others, but you gotta give credit where it’s due right? So here goes…

1. Hiba Bukhari as Dilnasheen in Fitoor
Hiba Bukhari as Dilnasheen, the girl who sacrifices her love for her family’s reputation. She killed it with her expressions, especially when she saw Hamza turn up at her wedding unexpectedly.
We’re wondering if Dilnasheen will be able to set the past aside and move on … oh well, easier said than done. Hamza won’t let her off the hook that easily, if nothing else, she will see him in her nightmares … more drama to come!
2. Rabia Butt in Pehli Si Mohabbat
Rabia Butt as Nargis, the step mom who is trying to warn & look out for Rakshi. Her character portrayal is on point; supportive without being soppy gives Nargis a believable depiction & we’re loving the intuitive sensitivity with which she has adapted the role!

Nargis brings a refreshing approach to stepmoms and is breaking down the stereotype that all stepmoms are evil. We have a feeling she’ll step in and save Rakshi. Kia pata Rakshi aur Aslam ka saath might be Nargis’ doing eventually? Who knows!
3. Bilal Abbas in Dunk
Bilal Abbas stuns us yet again! Haider’s controlled yet seething anger & resentment towards Amal leaves us in awe It also makes us wonder, will he expose Amal and come clean later or will he mastermind a game plan? Haider seems too straightforward to do the latter (needless to say, that is Amal’s department), so let’s hope he’s not caught up in her game plan instead!

He gave an outstanding performance during ‘that’ scene! The way he confronted Amal and threw Amal’s dialogues (with the professor) back at her gave us chills! We felt that tear rolling down Haider, kamal kar dia!
4. Sana Javed in Dunk
Amal won our sympathy with her non-theatrical portrayal of a girl, jilted, revealed, and undergoing multiple mixed emotions all at the same time.
Sana’s muted dialogues & expressions gained audience sympathy – despite what we know Amal is capable of. Is she planning on taking revenge or will she let Haider off the hook? Nothing is as it appears in Dunk!

5. Noman Ijaz in Raqeeb Se
Kiya soch rehay hain Maqsood Sahib. Kabhi naram to kabhi bey-perwah.

Nauman Ijaz steals the show and owns every character he plays. That’s commendable, right? Maqsood Sahib is different, kind of hard to read. Aagay kia karen gay Maqsood Sahab? Sochieye aur batein...
Noman Ijaz has caught the subtleness of Maqsood Sahib in every movement, fleeting gaze and swift mood change. It takes a seasoned player to ace the character & he has nailed it of course!
6. Sania Saaed in Raqeeb Se
Sania as Hajra was excellent in portraying her internal conflicts. The fear to lose to Sakina & the intense desire to show trust in her husband – Hats off to a delicately balanced performance!
Hajra carries layers within and we know that, but how she reveals them, and tries not to reveal them, is praiseworthy indeed – We cannot imagine anyone else fitting the role better!

7. Salman Shahid in Raqeeb Se
Taya’s heavily ‘Pind’ accent & mannerism set a stark contrast against Maqsood’s Sahib’s apparent ‘gentle’ nature. Salman Shahid’s entry in the drama added immense value to the character dynamics & we’re loving it!
