Bilal Abbas Khan x Sajal Aly starrer Kuch Ankahi is hours away from gracing our TV screens. With the first episode about to drop, we got to chat with our Kuch Ankahi hero and find out more about the actor behind the screen, why he picked the script (after rejecting so many) and what’s on the cards for him in 2023!
1. Why Kuch Ankahi, What (Or Who) Spoke To You About The Script?
No surprises there as the ace director seems to be the hook for many actors – what’s in a name? Everything if you’re Nadeem Baig, and that name was enough to rope in Bilal as well! “I have enjoyed my character in Kuch Ankahi, says Bilal. Nadeem Baig knows his stuff, I take no stress, I just follow his guidance. I was really excited I was working with him after he worked with Humayun Saeed!”
There are very few directors that you can trust so much, and Nadeem Baig is one of them!

Bilal told us that the reason behind saying yes to “Kuch Ankahi” was Nadeem Baig, the director, and Muhammad Ahmed the writer. He liked the idea of how the project talks about a lot of social issues in a manner that seems natural.
2. Does He Come Off As Arrogant? Hmmm
“Kuch Feel Nahin Aati,” he retorts. Sometimes even though the project seems okay and the team is good, there is something missing, can’t put my finger on it. Oh yes, Bilal has a feel for good scripts, and when he’s not feeling it folks, he’s not saying yes to the script. Does that mean he’s picky and comes off as arrogant? Oh well, he’s aware of the fallout from his ‘feels’ but he says he’ll live with it!

Bilal shared that when he doesn’t get a feel, as in a feel for the script he doesn’t hesitate to refuse the offer, might make him come off as arrogant, but hey, what’s a man to do?
3. What’s Next In the Pipeline?
Bilal’s next project is one he definitely got the ‘feels’ for, (Thank Goodness for his fans)and … surprise, surprise, it’s a Love Story penned by none other than Farhat Ishtiaq! And it goes into production as we speak, in January!
We can’t wait to see what’s in store! I’m doing a Big Bang Project with Badar Mehmood. I have already done 3 projects with Big Bang, this is the 4th. I’m working with Badar Saahab after sometime, I have great camaraderie with him, and looking forward to it. It’s a love story and it’s Farhat Ishtiaq’s script!

4. Bilal’s Current Read
Bilal reveals that he loves to spend time at home, he is a homebody! hence he’s currently reading “The Unlimited Power” which is a book about mind control exercises and the power of Manifestation. He has been into mind control for quite sometime.
I don’t like to talk about it, but I do believe in the power of manifestation … and if you really want something from the heart, you pray for it from the heart, you work for it, you can achieve it!

5. Bilal’s Spotify List? Do You Have A Genre You’re Stuck On?
He shared that his playlist is a mix of all sorts of music ranging from qawwalis to English songs and of course Pakistani songs – he has a mixed genre and listens in to whatever he’s in the mood for at the time!

6. Bilal’s Thoughts About Soulmates & Love
He thinks that love revolves around respect loyalty and companionship and in order for a person to love someone these traits should be present otherwise it’s all just talk in the air! FYI he does believe in soulmates!
I fumble when talking about Mohabbat, but when the time is right, I’ll be alright, I’m sure…love is about honesty, respect, loyalty, companionship, mutual admiration for each other. Yes I believe in soulmates.
7. What Does Kuch Ankahi Aim To Deliver
According to Bilal, this drama will talk about subjects that are not talked about in society often and try to bridge the communication gap between society and the people. It will portray messages like women empowerment etc.
I normally aim to work as an actor in any project I take up, but in this drama, there’s more. This project will entertain, but also, the drama will reflect our society. Pakistani dramas can teach people a lot, and in this story many different characters can not only entertain, but also teach people, educate them … there are many lessons, not just mine, Mira’s, Ali Safina, Ahmed Saahab, Irsa jee, – you will learn from every track!
