Drama scenes can create a moment that stays long after the episode is over and this is why we revisit the scenes that made it to our list this week. Read on as we give you our top 9 of the week!

1. Case No. 9
The story had us on the edge of our seat as we hoped against hope Seher would discover the truth about Shazia before it’s too late. Right from the moment Seher hung up on Ali, till we prayed the internet would lag forever so Manisha couldn’t upload the video, the screen carried suspense, drama and a burning curiosity to know what happens next. And of course, a big thank you to the creators for not stretching it over to the next episode.
We needed the reveal now, and we got it. Ali and Seher are now a team, or so we think. Let the games begin!

When Beenish questioned Kamran’s domestics in court, it was an exercise in clever interrogation tactics, grilling them to uncover the truth, a slip of the tongue here, a show of nerves there, it was all about mind over matter. The director played with the edits to keep the proceedings fast-paced, revealing how a lawyer’s sharp intellect and prep work can ruffle feathers, not just for those delivering the testimony but even seasoned players like Bukhari who couldn’t keep himself from taking the stage and objecting to Beenish’s line of questioning.
Well played Team Case No. 9, this scene finessed the episode with a super performance from Aamina Sheikh as Seher’s lawyer Beenish.

2. Jama Taqseem
Qais’s father telling him off for being rude with Zubia was a high point indeed. It also showed us that upbringing might have nothing to do with education – courtesy, good behaviour and respect do not require a college degree but merely the right parenting. Rafiq Ahmed made sure Qais apologized to Zubia and that, dear folks, closed the chapter on the conversations regarding jihalat and dated mindsets – a criticism laid on Qais’s parents by Zubia. They might be old fashioned but they certainly know when their son steps out of line.

Speaking of fathers, Asher was not too far behind Rafiq Ahmed as he cautioned his wife not to fuel the fire and add to the already complex situation. Yes, Qais was abrupt with her, but let’s take it easy and leave in the morning, not late night. Zubia’s temper might have caused her to walk out of her daughter’s home, causing another storm in Laila’s life, but Asher’s balanced approach sent out great messages to audiences – one must think before one acts in order to prevent further damage. And of course, once Qais apologized, it all fell into place. All Zubia needed was a sincere apology and she melted in a matter of seconds!
The scene sent out great messages without being too preachy or didactic.

3. Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi
Ali swinging between starry-eyed love and snapping back to reality was a smooth interplay of expressions, body language and tone that made audiences smile at the silliness of it all. Wahaj Ali and Rumaisa Khan had us fully engaged as we waited for the bracelet to do its thing, one moment there, and the other moment, losing signals as Chamki’s powers faltered.
Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi continues to entertain with a story and comic moments that keep us invested in the storyline.

4. Pamaal
When Safia’s home is raided, the look of utter helplessness, shock, anger and rage come together to deliver an impactful scene. Faiza Gillani’s vacant-eyed gaze, her shock and disbelief, restless feet-tapping and tore intense expressions throughout the scene convey the range of emotions she underwent in those moments as strangers went through her beloved home and ransacked belongings she had acquired and nurtured so lovingly. It was her sense of privacy and security that was invaded and the sudden shock she experienced at the time was evident in every frame.

When Malika tells her daughter the truth and vows that she will raise her not to become helpless and dependent like herself, it was a full circle moment indeed. Malika’s journey seemed to have begun. The dialogues were poignant, painful yet empowering all at the same time, as audiences understood the painful place they came from and why Malika felt the urge to right the wrongs done to her by making sure her daughter Hadia is able to look after herself later in life, no matter what life throws at her.
In telling Hadia the truth about her father, Raza, Malika also laid to rest, all the dreamy tales her mother or she herself had woven around the two men in her life – her father and then her husband. Raza must be respected and loved not by shielding the truth from her daughter, but by telling her the truth and helping her understand and face it bravely.

5. Biryani
Gul Meher deep in prayer, asking Allah to understand the turmoil inside her heart, the restlessness in her soul and to help her navigate this difficult time was a moment indeed. When she tells Amma Saeen that cousin marriage is the reason she and Meeran decided not to have children, when she feels lost and yet protective towards Haroon, when she faces Meeran’s anger and then his helplessness, Gul Meher is a character who carries the worries of the world upon her shoulders and this dua spoke to the hearts of many who might empathize with her and feel her inner challenges.
Sarwat Gilani is giving us reasons to love Gul Meher.

6. Meri Zindagi Hai Tu
The moment when Ayra sits down to explain to Kamyar that she doesn’t want to be in a relationship where she’s perpetually scared, apprehensive about what happens next, constantly scared of the guy she’s with… that’s not how she wants to see herself. The only relationship they share is one where Kamyar harasses her, scares her and makes her anxious about what he’ll do next.
The conversation aptly portrayed exactly how a girl doesn’t want to ever feel in a relationship and often does, due to the problematic or overbearing behaviour of her partner. Well done Ayra for saying it like it is!

And that’s it for drama scenes this week. Let us know if we missed some and drop us a comment if you’d like to add a scene that deserves the spotlight.
