The drama portrays reality without sugar coating the painful repercussions on innocent individuals when the law is manipulated, influence and power win over truth and helpless parents look on, confused as to how to deal with a situation where they have zero control.
Highlighting Dark Side Of Society
The dark side of our society seems ruthless and doesn’t spare young children in educational institutions – such is the state of affairs that although, events and incidents in Pinjra might be playing off as a fictional story onscreen but we have, unfortunately, seen the same scenarios play out in real life stories amidst us, and in newspaper headlines, lost in the everyday business of living – there is a massive divide in society between the influential, the haves and the have nots and accountability has dropped to an all-time low – Pinjra highlights all this through the story of Abaan and it’s doing it with tremendous impact.
Khadija is finally standing up to Javed
She is not giving in to his dominating nature and gathering courage to fight for Abaan. It is frustrating to see how Javed fails to realise what is really happening with Abaan. His anger and blame misdirected at Khadija. We appreciate the drama showing that many humans are grey, just like Javed who wants to fulfil his responsibilities and deposits money in Khadija’s account. Azaan, despite being angry with his father, is hoping that his good grades will make Javed happy.
A Dose Of The Reality That Surrounds Us
The school is a sad representation of educational institutions around us, where the administration covers up many mishaps or brushes them under the carpet, even drugs, due to the undue pressure and intimidation from influential parents. Abaan’s decision to raise his voice against those who attacked him will endanger him further, especially since he has no protection from jail administration.
The next episode of Pinjra will unravel more on Abaan’s story and the journey of those affected by his plight. There is a hope for an uplifting end to his trauma, but we hold our breaths as we fear for his life and the happiness and peace of those around him.
