In an exclusive with FUCHSIA, Ramsha Khan & Hira Mani spill the beans about their characters, experience and costars on the sets of Teri Meri Kahaniyaan. Read More!

FUCHSIA Editor Rabia Mughni sat down with the leading ladies of Teri Meri Kahaniyaan – a first of its kind in Pakistan, an anthology! The anthology is brought to us by SeePrime productions with 3 spectacular stories, 3 visionary directors and 1 cinematic experience. The movie releases on Eid-ul-Azha across cinemas in Pakistan.
SeePrime, the biggest short film platform focusing on social, current and women issues has now garnered a name for releasing the first ever anthology in Pakistan. We will also be seeing glimpses of the above in their conversations with top notch directors and cast. An anthology film is one consisting of several different short films covering different genres, perhaps threaded together by only a single theme, premise or event, thus offering us 3 films’ unique stories in one ticket. Bang for your buck? You bet!
We had a quick tete a tete with the 2 stars on their respective characters, their film Teri Meri Kahaniyaan and experiences. The two actresses are among the top rising clan in Pakistan and truly give us quality content.
We clearly have a lot to report. Let’s take you through what they have divulged:
Hira Mani – In Jin Mahal
Hira’s yet to release movie is based on the horror and comical strifes of a family trying to survive and she agreed family is always there for you.
Family Dynamics & What’s Important?
Talking further about family dynamics with Rabia Mughni, Editor – FUCHSIA, she says you have to equally participate in your family’s happiness and the dynamics are rather natural, not conditional or forced. The connection between siblings and parents is effortless, something you don’t intentionally do or strive for.
She also highlighted some generally disregarded challenges at work, how actors are made to stay in a box but in her case, being naturally quite fidgety she has to constrain her self.
Casting & Challenges
The film came to the couple when they were sitting in their hotel room on their USA tour. A random phone call from Nabeel Qureshi ended up making Hira and Mani the lead cast.
Hira described that the shoot environment was legit challenging, it was a real train station with extremely gruesome conditions and the house they shot in was actually uninhabited for 40 odd years. The director ensured nothing was cleaned for the set to look ingenuous and the cast members did end up contracting dust and skin allergies.
In a classic, dramatically engaging Hira Mani way she narrated how she ended up crying at her ‘first look’ test for the shoot as she didn’t imagine looking that boring and dull for her first ever movie shoot but quickly realised that it will be her talent that shines through and not the “glamour” And it appears, as she started shooting and seeing Mani on set, the excitement found a way!
She revealed they actually shot at a real train station and in a really dated train compartment with no lights, no working washrooms and loaded up on insect repellants.
Mani’s Comeback & Their Khoon, Paseena!
Talking about her husband she gushed about what a great actor Mani actually is but knew people will get in on that sooner or later. Working with her experienced actor of a husband clued her in on the flaws her acting had and she mentioned how Mani took a long break and has now come back with his own identity. (He sure has, he has back to back films releasing currently).
Hira even divulged more details on the mob attack that happened on their set, admitting that it was super scary and traumatic. The cast and crew were robbed of their phone sets, outfits and set items. The only thought that was present in her mind was of her children and leaving them behind, thus adding that this movie is literally a culmination of their khoon, paseena, emotions and maar pittai.
Ramsha Khan – In Pasoori
Soon to be seen as Romaisa in Pasoori in the second film of the Anthology, Ramsha says she is currently on cloud nine! Quite excited about her rom-com release.
The Project & Why She Said Yes
When asked why she said yes to this specific script – She revealed the movie is larger than life, a cute filmy movie with ace director and writer, Marina Khan and Vasay Chaudhry. She wanted to dip her toes and be a part of the interesting experiment Teri Meri Kahaniyaan is.
She also added when we mentioned how her recent projects, all have a message: “Romaisa is a modern day girl who has a passion for singing, she is willing to fight to follow her dreams and the movie will surely pass on a message to audiences.”
Her Gentleman Co Star, Sheheryar Munawar
We also got to know Sheheryar Munawar will be bearing a big chunk of the comedy quotient in the movie. Ramsha says, his character Salman is the kind of guy everybody needs in their corner, also a super supportive fiancé!
She commended Sheheryar Munawar on being a very “intelligent actor and also a great director!” She added how he is a “true gentleman, respectful towards everybody on set.”
Director Marina Khan & How Cute She Is!
Rabia playfully asked if Marina Khan as a director has ever admonished the cast on set? Ramsha admiringly proclaimed how actually Marina Khan is a sweetheart and absolutely cute! “Shes always open to suggestions and was actually very nervous about her first film project.”
Personal Life & Personality
Coming to the topic of what she looks for in a relationship, she revealed that for her, a supportive partner is key and that there has to be trust and respect. She advised young girls “don’t settle for less” while also highlighted having a career or even being a housewife is okay because that on its own is a full time job.
As a person, she said she overthinks a-lot and is not a risk taker (unlike her character in Pasoori) Before taking a big decision she usually calls 10 people and doesn’t believe in functioning in overdrive mode which she said isn’t great for her mental health.
Teri Meri Kahaniyaan releases worldwide on the 29th of June! Have you booked your tickets yet?
