Two women are fighting. But for a change, IT IS NOT OVER A MAN… but to win a cricket match. What a refreshing change in Pakistani dramas by 22 Qadam!

Fari’s Life Lessons
What a treat to watch Fari’s journey as she gets a life lesson in losing a game, playing with worthy opponents and a reality check to set her priorities right about friends in life.
We did hope that Fari would win the match, proving her mettle, just like it would happen in a heroic drama or film. But the story took another route and chose to show a “not so sweet” journey of Fari, for all of us out there, dreaming big – that victory comes with a whole lot of pain, practice and endeavour, and Fari’s journey has just begun!
As Fari cries at the end of the match, we cry along with her but it also reminds us that winning and losing is part of any journey. At the same time, it uplifts us by teaching us that though we might have lost this one chance, but we still managed to make progress in our journey. Just like Junaid reminds her: “If you wanted to be noticed, you succeeded”. So failure never means a complete loss, it is always accompanied by many wins, if only we learn to perceive it that way.
Our heart broke for Sam when Fari was harsh with her at the end. Keryana spoke for all the viewers who wanted Fari to value and appreciate Sam…
The Wow Factor!
The drama makers must be appreciated for showing a full-fledged game of cricket that entertained us, carried the thrill factor and also handed out some stressful moments. Oh let’s not forget, the episode also enlightened us about many cricketing terms and rules. Which is so good, because they are not undermining our intelligence as a viewer, or expect us to know all the rules, or look them up ourselves.
Fari and Liza are on fire when they are in the ground… We can’t wait to see more sparks fly when they collide again.
What a beautifully engaging way to highlight the struggles and challenges faced by women in sports, without boring us, and without compromising the cause.
22 Qadam is a treat to watch every Sunday.
